The Seventh Member Congress Of Guangdong Apparel And Apparel Industry Association Held

On the afternoon of November 18th, the seventh member congress of the Guangdong apparel and apparel industry association was held in Guangzhou textile and trading garden. About 250 members of the association attended the meeting. The leaders of the China Textile Industry Federation, the China clothing association, the Guangdong provincial social organization administration and the relevant cooperation units of the association attended the meeting.

This conference is chaired by Huang Yiqun, vice president and Secretary General of Guangdong apparel and apparel industry association.

The members' Congress is convened as scheduled in accordance with the provisions of the articles of association. The members are recommended by the local associations (chambers of Commerce) and the professional market, which conform to the requirements of the provincial social organization administration's notice on Issuing the guidelines for the general election of the trade associations of the whole province and the regulations of the association. The representative is composed of personnel at all levels in the garment industry, including representatives from various associations (chambers of Commerce), industrial clusters, production area representatives, professional market business representatives, clothing brand representatives, and small and medium sized enterprises representatives.

The meeting was first made by Liu Yueping on behalf of the sixth session of the Council. Liu Yueping reviewed the development of the industry in the past four years and the work of the Sixth Council.

In the past 70 years since the founding of new China, the textile industry has made remarkable achievements in the journey of getting up, becoming rich and strengthening. The industry has formed the largest and most complete industrial system in the world. The pillar industries of the national economy, important livelihood industries, and the creation of new competitive industries with international competition have become more prominent. From the national level, the textile and garment industry has reached the "world leading position" and has the greatest potential to enter the ranks of manufacturing powerhouses. From the perspective of bay area, textile and garment industry is the export advantage industry in Guangdong Bay, Hongkong and Macau, and the government attaches great importance to the development of textile and garment industry. Data show that over the past 2016-2018 years, garment production, industrial added value, main business income, total profit and export volume of Enterprises above Designated Size in Guangdong have been decreasing year by year, which is consistent with the development trend of the national garment industry. The annual output of clothing and exports in Guangdong accounts for about 20% of the country's total. Since the beginning of this year, the clothing industry in Guangdong is facing great difficulties and pressures. The economic indicators have continued to show a downward trend, with the export volume falling by 15.43%, a record low. At present, the industry is undergoing a deep adjustment period in the process of transformation, and it is also an industrial strategic restructuring period and a period of potential development. The release of the "outline of the development plan for Guangdong Bay Macao Bay Area" provides a new strategic opportunity for Guangdong's garment industry to further integrate into the new pattern of international industrial competition and seize the commanding heights of industrial innovation.

In the past four years, the association has done a lot of work in organizing the empowerment, research empowerment, platform empowerment, communication and empowerment, talent empowerment and so on, focusing on the key word "industry empowerment". In the context of the construction of the bay area, the association has actively led and promoted the construction of the fashion Bay area. It has taken the lead in establishing the Bay Area fashion industry alliance, and advocated creating the "Bay Area fashion innovation corridor", leading the establishment of "Bay Area fashion culture confidence". Zhou Yantai, chief supervisor of Guangdong apparel and apparel industry association, made financial report on behalf of the sixth session of the Council.

Subsequently, the General Assembly deliberated and adopted the financial report, and voted to adopt the constitution of the Association (Revised Draft).

A new supervisory board was elected by the general assembly. Zhou Yantai was re elected as the supervisor, Zhu Minqi and Lin Xiaolan as supervisors of the new Council.

Jiang Nan, director of the registration office of the Guangdong provincial social organization administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He gave positive affirmation to the work of the association and made important guidance for the healthy development of the association in the future.

We should implement the plan of Guangdong province's training of textile and garment industry cluster, promote the development of clothing technology, industrialization and promote the application level into the world's advanced ranks, further enhance Guangdong's fashion discourse power, and build a high standard platform to help Guangzhou build the "fashion capital".
