    Artificial Intelligence In Fashion Textile Industry

    The nineteenth Shanghai International Textile Industry Exhibition (2019 Shanghai Textile Machinery Exhibition) and the second International Conference on fashion and textile artificial intelligence (AIFT 2019), jointly organized by the Department of textiles and clothing, Hong Kong Polytech University, were officially opened in Shanghai Zhuo Mei ya Himalaya Hotel in November 26th. The three day meeting brought together more than thirty researchers in fashion textiles and more than 200 overseas and domestic audiences to promote the integration of textile fashion and artificial intelligence. Many of them are very active in fashion textile companies, and have joined hands with the industry to promote the internationalization of textile technology.

    AIFT 2019 opening ceremony was held at Himalaya Hotel in Shanghai. The conference announced the long-term cooperation with the ShanghaiTex 2019 Shanghai textile machinery exhibition and several colleges, including the Department of textile and clothing science, Hong Kong Polytech University, the Institute of information science and technology, Donghua University, the Institute of fashion and art design, the digital textile and garment engineering center of the Ministry of education, the clothing Institute of Wuhan Textile University, the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Clothing Institute, the Xi'an Polytechnic University clothing and Art Design Institute, the Institute of garment art and engineering, the school of clothing design and engineering, the school of textile design and engineering, the Donghua textile Institute, the textile and clothing engineering college, and the establishment of the fashion and textile artificial intelligence alliance.

       Conforming to the needs of academics, researchers and practitioners, the establishment of the fashion and textile AI alliance is designed to become a platform conducive to the exchange of textile fashion AI information through a non-commercial organization. It runs through academic, supply, production, design, brand and other related practitioners, sharing resources and achieving a win-win situation.

    The fashion and textile AI alliance hopes to achieve the following vision and contribute to the promotion of the textile and fashion industry's academic research and application in the AI field in the long run.

    1) in line with the core value of "research, application and popularization", we link academic research and industry through the platform to find more AI's new applications and opportunities in the textile fashion industry.

    2) promote academic research, run through the upstream and downstream (supply, production, brand), and popularize the education and application of AI in the industry.

    3) based on China and facing the world, enhance the influence of fashion and textile artificial intelligence alliance.

    4) focus on the industry's leading institutions and people, thereby promoting information exchange, popularizing the application of AI technology in the textile and fashion industry, and promoting the development of science and technology.

    Expand AI's unlimited future in textile fashion

    AIFT 2019 provides an open platform for researchers, engineers and people in the field of AI AI and fashion textiles, to explore how to work hand in hand towards "industry 4" and "new retail era". This year, three heavyweight keynote speakers were invited to focus on the theme and comprehensive analysis of the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence for textile and fashion industries.

    Professor Cai Dacheng, Professor of KITHCT, School of computer science, National University of Singapore, first introduced the latest development of artificial intelligence and multimedia, and the related research on fashion product search, style matching, content discovery and multi-mode recommendation, on the theme of "artificial intelligence X Multimedia: accelerating the fashion industry". He also demonstrated the research on multimode fashion taxonomy, as well as its application in multimodal conversation system and fashion trend analysis, and finally discussed the future trend of AI in fashion applications.

    Then professor -Anne Toomey, director of Department of Textile Design Department of Royal College of Art, takes the theme of "redefining the soft system: Industrial 4" as the theme of the speech. It shares the development of artificial intelligence in the fields of fashion, textile, advanced robotics, computer science, biological design and advanced materials, and so on, which is a new step for us to create and convey the future fashion.

    Finally, Professor Zheng Yixiong, Professor of textiles and clothing department of Hongkong University of science and technology, delivered the theme of "artificial intelligence: the inevitable disruptive transformation of fashion textile industry", not only for the various applications of artificial intelligence in fashion textiles, but also for the challenges and opportunities faced by technology.

    Inventory of AI and intelligent textile production plan

    In addition to the three keynote speeches, AIFT 2019 has invited papers from researchers in the global AI and fashion textile fields to invite them to comment on the basic theories, principles and technologies of AI and their applications in fashion and textile fields. Finally, a total of more than 40 papers have been screened, and more than 30 experts from the United Kingdom, Hongkong, Singapore, Korea and China have published a number of topics on the application and technology of fashionable textile AI. Many authors have published their original papers in the conference room of Shanghai New International Expo Center today and tomorrow. The paper is divided into four categories: artificial intelligence and fashion, artificial intelligence and textiles, wearable devices and human body health models, artificial intelligence basic research, and multi Application Research of fashion textile artificial intelligence.
