1-10 Kazakhstan Light Industrial Output Value Increased By 18.9%

Nur, Sultan, November, 19, November, Kazakhstan Ministry of industry and infrastructure development announced that in 2019 1-10, the output value of light industry reached 87 billion 500 million Kat (about 225 million US dollars), an increase of 18.9% over the same period last year, of which textile production increased by 23.7% compared with the same period last year, and the apparel industry increased by 7.5%.

At present, light industry has become one of the priority development directions Kazakhstan government attaches great importance to. Kazakhstan light industry mainly consists of three sub sectors: Textile ratio 52%, clothing 38%, leather and its products 10%. As of the beginning of September 2019, there were 1030 light industrial enterprises in Kazakhstan, employing about 11 thousand people, mainly producing clothing, footwear, cotton yarn, fabrics, carpets, leather and so on.

The government of Kazakhstan has introduced a series of supporting measures to support the development of light industry, including promoting product exports, increasing labour productivity, promoting domestic products in the domestic market, and promoting the implementation of the "2020 business development roadmap". According to the directive issued by President Tokaev in the state of the Union address on the development of the "simple goods economy", the government has passed an order to provide light industrial enterprises with a special interest rate of 6% of the interest rate. Up to now, the Bank of Kazakhstan has provided a total of 4 billion 300 million credit for 21 projects. The Ministry of industry and infrastructure development of Kazakhstan is formulating the "2019-2021 light industry development roadmap", and proposes 52 supporting measures including guaranteeing raw material supply, cracking down on illegal circulation and improving local ingredients.
