China Ethiopia Industrial Cooperation Conference Held

On November 2019 27-30, in order to implement the outcome of the Beijing summit of the China Africa Cooperation Forum and the spirit of the second summit of the international cooperation forum, Wang Jiangping, Deputy Minister of industry and information technology, sent a delegation to Ethiopia to carry out a series of activities.

During his visit to Ethiopia, Wang Jiangping held talks with Minister of state of the Ministry of trade and industry of the Ethiopia and Minister Johannis Dinkaeu of the State Council, and conducted frank and friendly exchanges on cooperation in small and medium enterprises, raw materials, consumer goods and other fields, and reached a broad consensus on the next two sides' cooperation in Ethiopia. During the talks, representatives of Chinese enterprises such as Wuxi cotton, Jiangsu sunshine and Orient International introduced the production and operation in Ethiopia. After the talks, Wang Jiangping and Taika Gabriejesus signed two memorandum of understanding on promoting bilateral cooperation in the field of SMEs. The two sides will focus on strengthening the capacity building and industrial cooperation of SMEs.

The Ministry of industry and information technology and the Ministry of trade and industry of Ethiopia jointly organized the Sino Egyptian joint meeting on industrial cooperation, with more than 150 Representatives from both sides. In his address, Wang Jiangping pointed out that Ethiopia is one of the earliest countries in Africa to sign a cooperation document with China, and the two countries have continuously deepened cooperation in the fields of industry, raw materials, consumer goods and telecommunications infrastructure, and achieved remarkable results. Wang Jiangping stressed that China and Egypt are comprehensive strategic partners, and industrial cooperation has become an important means to promote mutual benefit and mutual benefit of the two countries, and put forward four cooperative initiatives: first, strengthen policy docking in the industrial field. China and Egypt should seize the historical achievements of the Beijing summit of the China Africa Cooperation Forum and build the "one belt and one road" historical opportunity, explore the establishment of an inter governmental cooperation mechanism, share experiences in industrial development policies, strategic planning, and standard systems, and jointly promote the Sino Egyptian industrial cooperation to help speed up the industrialization process in Ethiopia. The two is to deepen cooperation in various fields of industry. We should support the industrial cooperation mode based on the construction of the park, and cooperate in key areas such as small and medium enterprises, raw materials and consumer goods, so as to further expand the common interests and cooperation space. The three is to speed up the capacity building of industrial cooperation. Provide personnel training for Ethiopia, share the concept and practical experience of industrial cooperation, support exchanges among associations, research and consulting institutions and enterprises, conduct joint meetings, and lead and support the deepening of Sino Egyptian industrial cooperation. The four is to promote joint efforts of government, industry, University and Research Institute to form a joint effort. We will promote closer communication and cohesion among the two governments, industrial circles, think tanks, associations and financial institutions, strengthen mutual trust and extensive cooperation, form an all directional and multi-level industrial cooperation mode, promote more cooperative projects to fall, and continuously enhance the resultant force of Sino Egyptian industrial cooperation.

In addition, Wang Jiangping also worked with the Chinese ambassador to Ethiopia to carry out work exchanges. He studied the Oriental Industrial Park, the Jiangsu sunshine Ethiopia textile and garment production base, the Sino Egyptian building materials science laboratory and other Chinese funded enterprises.

The Ministry of industry and information technology, the international cooperation department, the SME Bureau, the raw materials industry division, the consumer goods industry division, and the SME development promotion center of the Ministry of industry and information technology and the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia attended the above activities.
