Textiles Garments Exports Trade General Situation

Exports to the US market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-9 amounted to US $3 billion 700 million, up 4% from the same period of the previous year. The main export items were garments and apparel, which accounted for 3 billion 400 million US dollars, accounting for 91% of the total export value, followed by miscellaneous products, with an export value of 160 million US dollars, accounting for 4% of the total export value. In addition to yarn, the export value of all products increased compared with the same period of the previous year, while the number of garments and apparel exported to large volume increased by 1%.

Export volume

In the 1-9 month of 2019, fiber, fabric and miscellaneous exports grew and yarn declined. Exports were mostly garments and apparel, with an export volume of 880 million square meters, representing a 1% decline over the same period of the previous year.

Export average unit price

The average unit price of fiber and miscellaneous items rose by 13% and 57% respectively. The average unit price of yarn and fabric products decreased by 11% and 7% respectively. The average unit price of exported garments and garments increased from $3.77 per square metre in the previous year to US $3.85, up by 2% (see Table 1).

Export to EU market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-9 amounted to US $1 billion 400 million, representing a decrease of 6% compared with the same period in the previous year. The main export items were garments and clothing, with an export value of US $1 billion 70 million, accounting for 76% of the total export value, followed by yarn, with an export value of US $180 million, accounting for 13% of the total export value. In addition to fiber, the export value of all products declined compared with the same period of the previous year. Among them, the largest recession was miscellaneous, accounting for 35% of the recession, and the export bulk garments and clothing products were 7%.

Export volume

In 2019, the export volume of most yarn products was 75 thousand tonnes, accounting for 39% of total exports, while exports decreased by 3% compared with the same period of the previous year, followed by 28% of garments and clothing, and 3% of export volume declined. 1-9.

Export average unit price

The average unit price of fiber and fabric increased by 7% and 5% respectively. The average unit price of yarn and miscellaneous products decreased by 0.4% and 1% respectively. The average unit price of exported garments and garments was increased from $20.82 per kilogram in the previous year to US $20.13, down by 3% (see table two).
