2020 Trend Of Sportswear: Plastic Tights And Yoga Suits Continue To Be Hot.
British fashion shopping search platform Lyst recently released the "2020 sportswear" report. According to Lyst data, this year consumers are still very concerned about sportswear: since the beginning of this year, the search volume of sports apparel on the Lyst platform has increased by 59%.
Plastic tights are more popular.
According to the Lyst survey, the demand for tight pants (Leggings) has been high. The search volume of tight pants on the Lyst platform has increased by 15% since the beginning of January. On average, the Lyst platform sold 35 sports tights per hour, and the average consumer spending on tight pants increased by 17% over the same period last year.
According to Lyst data, in the past three months, the number of keywords such as "shaping" and "pulling" has increased by 392%. SPANX, Sweaty Betty and AloYoga brand's plastic waist and shaping tight pants products page views have increased significantly.
In addition, consumer demand for high waist tight pants is also increasing, and search volume has increased by 65% over the same period last year, reaching a record high. At the same time, Lyst also found that consumer demand for body tights is increasing: in 2019, consumers' demand for conjoined apparel and practice dresses increased by 83%, and the demand has increased by 21% since the beginning of this year. Adidas, ASOS and Free People Movement have launched elastic conjoined clothing. Among them, pure black is the favorite color of consumers, with the largest amount of search.
Sportswear is more sustainable
According to the Lyst survey, the search volume for sustainable fashion increased by 75% from the beginning of this year compared with last year, while the search volume for sustainable sports clothing increased by 151% over the same period last year.
Lyst expects that sustainable fashion will continue to heat up in 2020, and the brand of environmental protection sportswear will be more and more popular with recycled plastic, regenerated nylon, organic cotton and recycled polyester fiber.
Lyst found that the search volume for sustainable and recycled sneakers is also growing, of which the search volume of ECONYL yarn has increased by 102% over the same period last year; the search volume of Repreve yarn has increased by 130% over the same period; the search volume of Tencel fiber has increased by 42% over the same period last year; and the search volume of organic cotton has increased by 52% over the same period last year.
On the Lyst platform, the most popular environmental protection brands are Girlfriend Collective, Adidas x Parley and Outdoor Voices. The fastest growing brand is the brand of Yoga sportswear brand Vyayama.
Yoga clothing is more popular.
Yoga is becoming more and more popular. More and more people begin to send Yoga photos on mobile social networking app Instagram. Some yoga clothing brands begin to create new yoga costumes, so that yoga clothes are not limited to fitness venues, but also suitable for daily life.
Animal prints, bold style designs and smooth monochrome patterns, as well as Lululemon (Lulu Le Meng), Beyond Yoga and other brands were all sought after by consumers in 2019. Lyst expects this trend to continue this year: since early January, the search volume related to the above products has increased by 38%.
According to Lyst data, the sales volume of Yoga peripheral products on the platform has increased by 42% over the past two years. During the period, the search volume of "Yoga tights" increased at a rate of 36% per month. More than 32% of the sportswear consumers are more concerned with colors when choosing Yoga costumes. The more popular colors are light blue, baby powder, lilac, cream and white.
Sportswear is more fashionable.
As the boundaries between fitness and daily wear become increasingly blurred, the future sportswear will be both fashionable and functional. Consumers are increasingly demanding for tights with zippers and pockets. Over the past three months, the search volume of Lyst users with tight pants has increased by 180%, and the number of tight pants with zippers has increased by 76%.
In addition, consumer demand for fashionable tights is growing. Since last November, the search volume of black coated tights has increased by 250%. In December last year, American actress Jennifer Lopes wore a metallic rosy gold Yoga tights. In the next 24 hours, the search volume of metallic tights was increased by 33%.
In addition, consumers are paying more and more attention to color matching. In the past three months, black and burgundy red and green green searches have increased by 71%. Bright neon colors have also been popular. The number of pink searches has increased by 61%, and yellow search volume has increased by 55%.
