As more companies invest in the mask industry chain, the difficulty of buying masks is expected to ease gradually.

Overtime to expand production difficult to fill gaps

"Not only is China short, but with the spread of the epidemic, Japan and South Korea are also short of melted spray cloth, and some importers and exporters of melt blown fabrics have recently begun to buy melted spray cloth in the country for use by Japanese and Korean enterprises." Zhang Qiang told the financial reporter.

"Meltblown cloth production has basically been controlled by the government. Even on the market, there are several intermediaries who have transferred several hands to store goods and then release them a little. The price will change tens of thousands of dollars a day. The price I asked a week ago was 120 thousand yuan, and the price I asked today is 300 thousand yuan. According to the data provided by the China Investment Industry Research Institute, the market price of melted spray cloth was about 18 thousand yuan / ton before the outbreak of the new coronavirus outbreak in 2019. Melted cloth is regarded as the "heart" of masks. It is the filter layer in the middle of the mask, which can filter bacteria and prevent the spread of germs. Melt blown cloth is made of polypropylene material with high melt index.

Surgical masks and N95 masks usually use multi-storey structures. According to the statistics of China Industrial Textiles Association, in 2018, the annual output of all kinds of nonwovens reached 5 million 932 thousand and 200 tons. In the industrial chain of mask production, mask masks also increased significantly except for melt blown fabrics.

An industry insider told the "finance and economics" reporter that the industrial chain of mask production is mainly polypropylene melt blown material melt blown cloth mask, and each production link needs corresponding production equipment.

According to Li Hai, the purchasing department of the listed company, "we have purchased the automatic mask machine. There are two dragging or dragging two on the market. According to an interview with finance and economics, other raw materials such as polypropylene and melted shotcrete are available and the price is reasonable.

Sinopec is China's largest manufacturer of medical chemical raw materials, before cross boundary intervention in the mask market, mainly to the market supply of polypropylene. As early as the end of January, the company made no commitment to increase the price of medical and health related materials produced by the Sinopec during the epidemic.

Caijing also learned that the supply of melt blown materials used for producing melt blown fabrics is also adequate at present, and the price fluctuation is within a reasonable range.

Core raw material capacity to be eased

"At present, the supply gap of melt blown fabrics is large because the industry has been relatively narrow and consumption has suddenly increased." An insider from Shandong Junfu nonwovens Co., Ltd. told the financial reporter.

It is reported that the company is currently the largest melt blown fabric producer in China, with a daily output of 15 tons. The company currently has 7 melted spray production lines and 4 anti sticking production lines. The bacterial barrier rate of the melt spraying cloth reaches over 95%, which is all up to the medical level.

Faced with the shortage of raw materials in the core of masks, Sinopec intervened across the border. In February 24th, the Sinopec Party group decided to build 10 melted spray production lines using its own raw material production advantages.

It is understood that Sinopec will invest about 200 million yuan, in Beijing Yanshan petrochemical and Jiangsu Yizheng chemical fiber two enterprises to build a melt blown non-woven fabric (melted spray cloth), spunbonded cloth production line.

Among them, Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical will build 2 melted spray production lines and 3 spunbonded cloth production lines, and strive to achieve partial melting before March 8th. An insider from Sinopec said in an interview with "finance and economics" reporter that "at present, the company's employees are working overtime, and the colleagues of Yanshan Petrochemical Company are already very busy."

How will the price of the melt blown fabric produced by Sinopec be priced? "At present, we have not yet priced it. A possible pricing method is to push the price of the melted cloth according to the price of the national purchase mask." The Sinopec insiders said, "this is expected to inhibit the speculation of domestic melted cloth to a certain extent."

As one of the two barrels of oil, PetroChina, in accelerating the production of melted polypropylene raw materials, organized refinery and chemical enterprises, chemical sales units, research institutes and partners to produce melt blown fabrics. In addition to the low domestic production capacity leading to the shortage of melt blown fabric, the long production cycle of the melt spraying equipment and the high price of the production line also become an important factor restricting its output.

According to its introduction, the company has many orders for melt blown nonwovens production equipment.

In the WeChat group of melt blown fabric, suppliers are also analyzing the reasons. The melt nozzle of melting cloth production equipment mainly comes from Germany. At present, the domestic orders for the melt nozzle may not be delivered in early April.

"Our melt spray production line can be launched quickly, thanks to the company's customers and customers' docking." Aforementioned Sinopec insiders said, "easy delivery" is Sinopec's industrial product e-commerce platform, with procurement and sales functions. Multi company cross-border support

In the face of the tight situation of "hard cover", many enterprises have "crossed the border" production.
