Whatsapp Mobile Payment Pilot In India Has Reached 1 Million
A few days ago, according to media reports, Facebook's news application WhatsApp has conducted a two-year mobile payment function test in India. The number of users in the first phase is 1 million. In addition, they are now planning to launch credit services in India.
According to media understanding, WhatsApp launched a remittance platform based on unified payment interface (UPI) in February 2018 - WhatsApp Payments, but the number of users is limited. Due to technical and regulatory barriers, Facebook's social messaging application can not extend its services in India. Since then, it has been seeking the final approval of its payment services across the country in India.
In February of this year, Facebook has been granted permission from National payment Corporation of India in India, and will launch its payment service WhatsApp Pay in India.
It is worth mentioning that in April 22nd, Facebook officially announced that it had invested $5 billion 700 million to acquire 9.99% of India's Reliance Jio telecom operators, which had 370 million users.
Facebook in India launched WhatsApp and Reliance Jio's electricity supplier business cooperation, it is expected to open up social networking, electricity providers, to pay close cooperation between these three businesses, and further promote Facebook in India Market Internet business development.
