The Temporary Tax Reduction Measures For Consumer Goods Announced By The Israeli Government In December 2017 Will Take Effect Permanently

In order to reduce people's living costs, the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China announced in December 2017 that the business tax and import tariff of consumer goods for the people's livelihood would be cancelled, and the import tariff would be reduced to zero since January 2018. The product range covers 11 categories, including household appliances, toy game machines, clothing, shoes and hats, furniture lighting, perfume, electronic entertainment equipment, baby products and mobile phones. The measure was originally planned to expire at the end of 2019. However, the provisional bill was automatically extended due to the re election of Parliament. After the new government took office, the cabinet announced that it would be changed into a permanent measure.

The original tariff on consumer goods for the people's livelihood in Israel was 15-30% for household appliances, 12% for toy game machines and sporting goods, 6-12% for clothing, shoes and hats, 6-8% for lighting equipment, 12% for cosmetics, 6-12% for baby pacifiers and bottles, and 15% for mobile phones.
