Cotton Planting Slows Down In Gubang And Mabang, India

In the week ending July 30, the cotton planting area in India increased by 320200 hectares, with a total planting area of 121 million mu, an increase of 5% compared with the same period last year, and 5% behind the final planting area last year. The planting area in Maharashtra and Gujarat decreased by 2% in Maharashtra and 7% in Gujarat compared with the same period last year.

On August 3, India's s S-6 ginning plant took delivery at rs. 32700 per Kandi, equivalent to 55.55 US cents per pound; j-34, Punjab, took delivery at RP 3590 per Maunder at 58.10 US cents per pound. On that day, only 6000 bales (1020 tons) of seed cotton were on the market, of which 3500 bales (595 tons) were in Gujarat.
