Tian Huiyu, born in May 1964, was the vice president and Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of Wuhan University of technology, assistant to the president of Sun Yat sen University (temporary post), and Secretary of the Party committee of Hubei University of science and technology. He also served as the vice-chairman of the Research Association of Dialectics of nature in Hubei Province, enjoying special subsidies from the government of Hubei Province; He is mainly engaged in the research of Marxist theory and philosophy of science and technology. He has presided over more than 10 provincial (ministerial) research topics and published more than 20 papers. He has been selected into the first batch of "cultivation plan for young and middle-aged Marxist theorists in Colleges and universities" of Hubei Province, and has won the honorary titles of "Excellent Communist Party member" by Hubei Provincial University Working Committee and Hubei Education Department.

Xu Weilin, born in April 1969, is an expert in textile materials and director of the cultivation base of the State Key Laboratory of new textile materials and advanced processing technology. He is also the vice president of China Textile Engineering Association and the chairman of Hubei Textile Engineering Society; He has successively presided over and participated in more than 30 national key R & D programs, National Science and technology support programs, 973 national high-tech basic research projects, and National Natural Science Foundation research projects. He has won the first prize of national science and technology progress award, the second prize of National Technological Invention Award, and the outstanding contribution award of Hubei Province in science and technology. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and vice president of Wuhan Textile University.

The predecessor of Wuhan Textile University is Wuhan Institute of textile technology, which was founded in 1958 and renamed as Wuhan Institute of science and technology in 1999. Hubei foreign trade school and Hubei finance and Economics College were merged into Wuhan Textile University in 2010.
