Since 2018, the textile industry has become one of the largest sources of foreign exchange earning for Myanmar's export, and it is also an industry with the largest labor force. Many international well-known brand orders have been placed in Myanmar. At the same time, Myanmar's textile and clothing industry has become the main economic pillar of Myanmar.

According to Shi Kun, President of Myanmar's China Textile and Garment Association, since 2012, with the deepening of the belt and road initiative and Myanmar's further reform and opening-up measures, communication and exchanges between China and Myanmar in the textile industry have become more and more frequent.
