China Became The Largest Import Source Of UK For The First Time, And Textile Sales Increased Significantly

For the first time, China became Britain's largest source of imports. According to British media reports, at the height of the epidemic, Britain imported more goods from China than any other country for the first time.

In the second quarter of this year, one out of every seven pounds of goods purchased in the UK came from China. Chinese companies have sold 11 billion pounds worth of goods to the UK, including textile sales, such as medical masks for the NHS and home computers for telecommuting.

The report pointed out that previously, China was usually Britain's second largest import partner, exporting about 45 billion pounds worth of goods to the UK every year, 20 billion pounds less than Germany, Britain's largest import partner.

According to the report of the National Bureau of statistics, a quarter of the electronic and mechanical products imported from the UK in the first half of this year came from China. In the third quarter of this year, British imports of Chinese clothing increased by 1.3 billion pounds.
