Gao Yong: The Goal Of China'S Textile Power Has Been Basically Realized

Recently, Gao Yong, Secretary General of the Party committee and Secretary General of the China Textile Industry Federation, said at the 15th Annual Meeting of the China Textile round table forum that after years of unremitting efforts, from the perspective of comprehensive strength, the original main indicators of textile power have been basically completed, and the goal of textile power has been basically achieved.

As early as in the Tenth Five Year Plan period, China's textile industry began to conceive of building a strong textile country and compiled the outline of textile power. The Chinese Academy of engineering has organized a number of academicians and experts to compare and analyze 26 manufacturing industries and powerful manufacturing countries in China. From the perspectives of scale, innovation ability, economic benefits and industrial structure, the conclusion is that five industries are at the world's advanced level, among which the textile industry is the leader. At present, China's textile industry accounts for more than 50% of the world's textile industry, 70% of the world's chemical fiber output, and one-third of the world's trade. From the perspective of industrial integrity, China's industrial chain is the most complete, and the product varieties are the most complete; from the perspective of manufacturing level, China's fiber raw materials, spinning and weaving, clothing and home textile technology and equipment level are mostly in the international advanced level.

Gao Yong said, therefore, from the perspective of comprehensive strength, the original set main indicators of textile power have been basically achieved.

"In 2020, the new crown pneumonia epidemic will spread all over the world, causing the market demand to shrink, the main operating indicators of the textile industry will decline, and the export will grow faster than expected driven by anti epidemic materials such as masks." Gao Yong said that in the case of a year-on-year decline in the total scale, the economic operation of the textile industry in 2020 will show positive performances, such as bottoming up and picking up, the domestic demand market will continue to warm up, and the stable release of export competitiveness.
