Why Can'T The Textile Industry Be Moved By Western Sanctions Against Xinjiang Cotton?
Now the West has begun to sanction Chinese cotton. To be honest, this kind of sanction means that the drunkard's intention is not to drink. He wants to sanction not only our cotton, but also the big cake of China's textile industry through cotton. We are known as the factory of the world. All the goods in the world need to be processed and manufactured here. For example, this time, Nike has been processing in China for a long time. The annual export volume of these processing enterprises reaches 300 billion US dollars. What if they don't use Xinjiang cotton?

One of the reasons why our textile industry is so strong is that we have an important cotton producing area in Xinjiang. If we import Indian cotton from overseas in order to order, it will increase our cost. This is the calculation of western countries to increase our costs and make our OEM products lose competitiveness. On the other hand, our national brand uses Xinjiang cotton. In foreign countries, it will be unsalable. Here is an important organization, BCI.
H & M's recent boycott of Xinjiang cotton has caused a stir on the Internet. In fact, H & M is just a head iron pushed to the top of the waves. In fact, because of the Xinjiang issue, the West has long imposed sanctions, which is the so-called BCI (better cotton initiative), which means better cotton initiative. Their main job is to supervise whether the cotton production process is standardized and whether there is damage to the environment and labor. This organization can be said to be very white left, very in line with the universal values of Europe.

The organizations that subsidize him are mainly from the United States and other western countries, such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Its main work is to provide overseas funding. For example, the German Technical Cooperation Corporation, the Danish international development agency, and the Swiss Federal Economic Affairs Agency are the main funders of BCI. Thanks to the support from western countries, this organization has grown significantly in strength, and major Western companies have joined the organization. Due to the increasing global trade in China, many companies have joined BCI, such as Anta this time.
The process of joining BCI is not complicated, that is, paying a certification fee of several hundred dollars. The main reason why our enterprises have joined this organization is that Europe has always had a consumption concept, that is, they like to consume the hyped environmental protection products. And the companies that join BCI think it's environmentally friendly. Until last year, the problem of Xinjiang, which was made out of thin air by the west, was fermented in the world, and Xinjiang cotton was sanctioned. So how much will the sanctions affect China this time?
Let's first look at the situation of China's textile industry. In fact, China's textile industry is now a sunset industry, with extremely saturated industries and rising labor costs. But even so, we still have more than 30% of the world's orders. Why? That's our unparalleled advantage over other countries. This advantage cannot be replicated in any country in the world today.
Let me ask you a question first. In what way can you feel that made in China is very powerful? If you can't think of it, let me give you an example. For example, watermelon, your favorite fruit in summer, is only one or two yuan a kilo on the market. Although you complain that watermelon is more and more expensive every day, it is not a problem to buy a large watermelon every week, and the same fruit is a problem in Europe and America. For example, when people in Europe eat watermelon, they don't talk about it, they talk about it. This is not western civilization, but they can't afford watermelon. A watermelon costs 60 euro.
Some people may think that western developed countries have less fruits and vegetables because of their diet structure. In fact, this is the lack of low-end industrial capacity. China's logistics is the first in the world, and the low price and cost of plastic film in China can be ignored when the transportation volume is small. The same problem is different in Europe and America. The United States has a developed highway system, but insurance products need a lot of dollars to buy from abroad. In Europe, not to mention, countries like Spain don't even have a developed road system. Therefore, we consume 700 million tons of fruits and vegetables every year, with an average of 500 kg, ranking first in the world.

If this is not enough, give another one. For example, we are proud of the e-commerce industry. Why can't we do this in western countries? If it comes to hardware facilities, the United States is no worse than us. The Internet is the first popular in the United States, highway transportation is also introduced in the front. What is the hard injury of the underdeveloped e-commerce industry in the United States? Or the lack of sufficient industrial capacity.
We'll order a take out. It's two yuan for packing and three yuan for further delivery. That's all the extra costs (regardless of business marketing). In Europe and the United States, the cost will never be so low. Five dollars for packing a takeaway, plus ten dollars for delivery, has quadrupled the cost. Why is the difference so much? Of course, China's two major advantages, our plastic packaging is very cheap, enough population. A takeout boy gives an office building, at least it's five. However, Europe and the United States are relatively scattered. It may take 10 kilometers to send one order to the next. Therefore, the Chinese takeaway brother is a small profit, but the European and American takeaway brother can only raise the unit price to make a living.
If we say that the textile industry, which has no technical content, can be transferred from Europe and the United States to Japan according to the labor cost, and then from Japan to China. But it is very difficult for them to transfer the industry from China to Southeast Asia. Because in labor-intensive industries, low labor costs help to improve product competitiveness. But if other supporting facilities can't keep up, the cost will go up.

Take Vietnam as an example, although today a large number of factories are trying to develop in Vietnam. But many of the owners finally returned to China. The main reason is that Vietnam's supporting facilities are not perfect. If you produce clothes in Vietnam, all your zippers, buttons and decorations need to be imported from China. The logistics cost of these products in China is very low, but the speed of cross sea transportation is slow and the cost is much higher. Therefore, so far, Southeast Asia can only stay in some rough textile production.
Moreover, in terms of technological population advantage, no country can compare with China, not even India. If China gives a 30% share of the textile industry, no economy will be able to take it. It is not enough to tie the whole ASEAN together. Moreover, in recent years, with the textile industry more pursuit of quality. Automatic shuttle, automatic winding, high-speed cloth machine, these equipment can not be manufactured or operated in foreign countries. If you leave these industries to them, you won't be able to complete such a large order. This is also the confidence that we are not afraid of Western sanctions, but also can be tough. In addition, masks also belong to a kind of textiles, western countries do not need it?
