In order to give full play to the positive role of cross-border e-commerce in promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and promoting the digital development of industries, the State Council has recently approved the establishment of comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zones in 27 cities and regions, including Ordos, Yangzhou and Alashankou.

The newly selected cities include: Ordos, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou, Jinhua, Zhoushan, Maanshan, Xuancheng, Jingdezhen, Shangrao, Zibo, Rizhao, Xiangyang, Shaoguan, Shanwei, Heyuan, Yangjiang, Qingyuan, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Yunfu, Nanchong, Meishan, Rizhao, Xiangyang, Shaoguan, Shanwei, Heyuan, Yangjiang, Qingyuan, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Yunfu, Nanchong, Meishan Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Baoji City, Kashgar region, Alashankou city.

Since the establishment of the first cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone in 2015, after several expansion, up to now, there are 132 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in China. According to the official reply, the 27 cities and regions in this batch will copy and promote the mature experience and practice of the first five batches of comprehensive experimental zones, spare no effort to stabilize the basic market of foreign trade and foreign investment, and promote the high-quality development of trade.

Li Yi, a postdoctoral and assistant researcher at the E-commerce Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, said that cross-border e-commerce has become an important driving force to stabilize China's foreign trade and promote transformation. The newly added 27 cities are comprehensive experimental zones for cross-border e-commerce, further expanding the exploration areas for foreign trade system innovation, mode innovation and business type innovation, which will accelerate the transformation and upgrading of domestic traditional foreign trade, continuously promote the deep integration of cross-border e-commerce and industrial clusters in various regions, promote the high-quality development of China's foreign trade, and smooth the domestic and international dual circulation. ?

Previously, the general office of the State Council issued the "opinions on doing a good job in cross cycle regulation and further stabilizing foreign trade", which pointed out that a number of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive experimental zones should be added and a number of offshore trade center cities (regions) should be cultivated. We should actively use the guidance fund for innovation and development of service trade, encourage financial institutions to increase their support for the construction and use of overseas warehouses by various enterprises in the form of market operation, so as to promote the high-quality development of overseas warehouses. Adjust and optimize the list of cross-border e-commerce retail imports, expand import categories, and better meet diversified consumer demand.
