The problem of natural gas supply has always been the natural enemy of Pakistan's textile industry. In recent years, in order to ensure the steady growth of export volume, the government will give priority to providing the maximum natural gas supply to the export industry, correct some low pressure problems, and hold regular meetings on the development of natural gas and natural gas infrastructure.
In the fiscal year of 2021-22, Pakistan's textile and clothing exports in January reached 1.552 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 17.31% and a decrease of 4.43% on a month on month basis; The export cotton yarn was 19400 tons, down 40.68% year-on-year and 31.77% month on month; The export of cotton cloth was 37 million square meters, up 14.82% year-on-year and 16.86% month on month.
In terms of the five major export items, the total export volume of yarn, fabric, knitting, bedding and clothing was 1.28 billion US dollars, down 4.48% month on month, the lowest since September 2021; The yarn export value was 77 million US dollars, down 10.47% year on year and 28.03% month on month; The textile export volume was 217 million US dollars, down 14.81% month on month; The export volume of knitwear was 387 million US dollars, down 12.05% month on month; The export volume of bedding products was 264 million US dollars, up 4.35% month on month; The export volume of ready-made clothes was 331 million US dollars, down 4.61% month on month.
In the fiscal year 2021 / 22 (July 2021 - January 2022), Pakistan exported 10.934 billion US dollars of textiles and clothing, an increase of 24.67% year-on-year; A total of 201300 tons of cotton yarn was exported, with a year-on-year decrease of 3.76%. The export of textile and clothing increased steadily on a year-on-year basis, with a slight decrease on a month on month basis.
