Before the industrial revolution, social and economic development and human activities were generally limited to manual work. Human destruction of nature, or transformation, was relatively limited. Nature relied on its own purification function to accommodate human destruction. However, with the arrival of the industrial revolution, the efficiency of human work has been continuously improved and the time required for human affairs has been sharply shortened. It can be said that the human development after the industrial revolution is exponentially growing. However, the pollution generated in the development process, because there was no such concept at the beginning, led to the direct discharge of pollutants, such as the MAS River Valley event, Belgium The photochemical pollution incident in Los Angeles, the smog event in London, the water accident in Japan and so on.

More and more serious damage to people's health has been caused by more and more serious incidents.

In 1962, American biologist Rachel Carson published silent spring, which is also regarded as the landmark starting point of environmental ecology in the 20th century.

Subsequently, the United States established the environmental protection agency in 1970, and each state passed laws prohibiting the production and use of highly toxic pesticides.

The first United Nations Conference on human environment was held in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 5 to 16, 1972. The famous declaration on human environment was put forward. It was the beginning of environmental protection that attracted the attention of governments all over the world. The Chinese government also participated in the conference.

The road of environmental protection in China

The environmental protection of the people's Republic of China also started in 1972. At that time, there was no statement from the Environmental Protection Bureau, but it was similar to the Guanting Reservoir Protection Office.

In 1973, the environmental protection office under the State Construction Commission was established. Later, it was changed to the State Environmental Protection Administration at the ministerial level directly under the State Council.

After the "two sessions" in 2008, the State Environmental Protection Administration was upgraded to "Ministry of environmental protection" and implemented unified supervision and management of environmental protection throughout the country. Gradually, local environmental protection bureaus have been set up in various counties and cities.

On November 8, 2012, the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held to incorporate the construction of ecological civilization into the overall layout of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and officially expanded it into "five in one" of economic construction, political construction, cultural construction, social construction and ecological civilization construction. This conference can be said to promote China's environmental protection to a new height, and then the corresponding laws and regulations on water, gas and slag were revised in full swing. There were also clear provisions in the responsibility assessment indicators of governments at all levels. There were great changes in the construction of environmental protection team and financial support. It can be said that great attention has been paid to policies and laws.

Up to now, green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains, and other public opinion guidance has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, which makes the environmental protection work almost a great cause for the participation of the whole people. And for the laws and regulations, public opinion guidance and so on to be presented slowly.

Environmental protection is the behavior of protecting the natural environment for the benefit of nature and human beings at the level of individuals, organizations or governments. Due to the industrial development, the environmental pollution problem is too serious and damages the ecological environment, some of which can not be retrieved. It triggers the industrial countries to pay attention to the environment, and then uses the national laws and regulations to regulate and deal with the pollution problem, and makes publicity to make the whole society pay attention to the far-reaching impact of pollution on the environment.

Environmental protection means that, because of the uncoordinated development of human and nature, human activities are forced to use pollution control and develop new energy to make human activities conform to the law of natural development. Generally speaking, we do something to ensure that our living place can be complete or even more beautiful, rather than because of the garbage or excreta we produce, which makes the living place worse.
