The 2023 Work Forum Of The Secretary General Of The National Silk Association Was Held In Suzhou

In the afternoon of April 7, the 2023 work forum of secretaries general of silk associations of all provinces and cities in China was held in Suzhou. Nearly 30 people attended the meeting, including secretaries general of silk associations from 14 provinces and cities, including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Hunan, Liaoning, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, and representatives from the Silk Magazine, the International Silk Federation, and other organizations. The meeting was presided over by Qian Youqing, secretary of the Party branch and chief supervisor of the China Silk Association.

At the meeting, Liu Wenquan, Secretary General of the China Silk Association, introduced the main work arrangements of the Association in 2023, We have made arrangements for the establishment of the "National Cocoon and Silk Industry Expert Database", "2023 National Cocoon and Silk Innovative Product Promotion", "Industry Skills Training", "Strengthening the Cultivation of Key Industrial Clusters", "Improving the Industry Standard System", "Strengthening the Management of High grade Silk Marks", "Strengthening the Monitoring and Early Warning of Industrial Economic Operation" and other related work. Li Qizheng, the president of Silk magazine, introduced the work plan for editing and publishing China Silk Yearbook (2021-2022). The secretaries general of silk associations in various provinces and cities made exchange speeches on the work carried out by each association, related plans and the economic operation of the local cocoon and silk industry in 2022.

The meeting believed that in recent years, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, geopolitical conflicts, international trade policies and other factors, the development of the industry has been greatly impacted, and the production and operation order of enterprises has been seriously damaged. The silk industry has made efforts to stabilize the export market, expand domestic consumption, and constantly improve the level of scientific and technological innovation and brand building by continuously promoting the adjustment, optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure. The economic scale of the industry is relatively stable, and the operation quality has been significantly improved.

The meeting stressed that 2023 is a key year for the "14th Five Year Plan" to connect the past and the next. The industry should give full play to the complete supporting advantages of the industrial chain, and continue to make efforts in various aspects such as market prosperity, export expansion and coordinated development of regional economy to achieve greater results. All provincial and municipal associations should actively carry out industry work, constantly innovate service methods, effectively guide enterprises to strengthen confidence, improve scientific and technological level, actively expand marketing channels, actively integrate into the new development pattern of "double circulation", and make greater contributions to jointly creating a new situation of high-quality development of China's silk industry.

Li Xin, Vice President of China Silk Association and Vice General Manager of China Silk Industry Co., Ltd., Wu Jingen, Specially Invited Vice President of China Silk Association and President of Zhejiang Silk Association, Chen Guoqiang, Director of National Modern Silk Engineering Laboratory of Suzhou University, Chen Xiangping, President of Sichuan Silk Association Fu Yaqin, Dean of the Graduate School of Zhejiang University of Technology, and three other specially invited vice presidents and supervisors of the Board of Supervisors of the China Silk Association attended the symposium and put forward constructive suggestions on the work of the Association.
