The Cotton Planting Area In Xinjiang Has Exceeded 1.4 Million Mu This Year

This year, cotton planting in Xinjiang has been carried out from south to north. Aksu, Kashgar and other major cotton planting areas seized the opportunity of rising temperature and better soil moisture to comprehensively carry out cotton sowing. Relying on high standard farmland, various regions have widely promoted technologies such as double film mulching, dry seeding and wet seeding, and one film and three lines. With the help of satellite navigation, intelligent seeders and other equipment technologies, mechanized operations have been implemented, greatly improving the efficiency and quality of operations.

This year, Xinjiang launched the action of improving the quality and efficiency of cotton production, and the total cotton output in the region will remain around 5 million tons, continuing to consolidate Xinjiang's strategic position in cotton. At present, according to the national cotton security strategy and the requirements of cotton industry development in the autonomous region, all regions are accelerating the selection and promotion of breakthrough new varieties suitable for market demand, and continue to promote the unification of cotton varieties in the same ecological region. At the same time, actively promote the planting mode of machine picking cotton to effectively increase the proportion of machine picking cotton in southern Xinjiang.

In order to better improve the quality of cotton planting in spring, in the near future, the agricultural and rural departments of our region will work with experts selected from the modern agricultural cotton industry technology system of the autonomous region to set up a technical service guidance group, which will carry out technical service guidance for 25 key cotton planting counties and cities in the way of package package, so as to ensure the implementation of key cotton field management measures.
