From January to April of this year, the main economic indicators of "key enterprises" in the cotton textile industry, such as operating income, export delivery value, total profit, industrial added value, etc., have narrowed compared with the cumulative decline from January to March, and the revenue profit rate indicator has increased.

Dong Kuiyong believes that the pressure on the export of the cotton textile industry is obvious at present, but it is expected that the export market orders will gradually increase in the second half of the year, and the decline of the industry's export will gradually narrow. Since May, domestic cotton prices have continued to rise in April, and the rate of increase has accelerated. Data shows that on May 24, the average spot price of China's cotton price index 3128B lint was 16658 yuan/ton, up 1104 yuan/ton from April 28, or 7.1%, breaking the peak of this year.

In this context, the price of the cotton textile industry chain has also gone out of the resonance rising market. Several listed companies in the industry chain said that short-term fluctuations in cotton prices would not have a big impact, but whether they could form long-term support for product prices depends on the demand for terminal consumption.

The large cotton yield reduction in the new year and the increase of adverse weather are considered as the basis for the rise of cotton prices. Wu Jingwen, an analyst with CITIC Futures, said that the cotton planting area in Xinjiang is expected to decrease this year, and the per unit area yield of cotton may also decrease. This year, the temperature in Xinjiang is low, and the frequent occurrence of abnormal weather in many places has led to repeated replanting and reseeding of cotton. The growth progress of cotton in Xinjiang is generally slow, or has a negative impact on cotton yield.

From the demand side, since April, downstream demand has continued to pick up slowly, and the starting load of cotton textile enterprises has continued to increase.

From the perspective of major production provinces, the situation of the textile industry is stabilizing and improving.
