Wujiang Ushers In The Fourth "100 Billion Yuan" Industrial Cluster

According to the latest data from Suzhou Wujiang District Bureau of Statistics, in 2022, 106 new material enterprises in the district will achieve a total industrial output value above designated size of 107.8 billion yuan, up 4.4% year on year, which marks that new materials will become the fourth 100 billion yuan industrial cluster in Wujiang after electronic information, silk textile and equipment manufacturing.

Since 2011, Wujiang has focused on cultivating new material industry. In the past 11 years, the new material industry has completed the "big step" from nothing to existence and from existence to excellence, and has given birth to "invisible champions" in industries such as Aosheng Technology and Karen Co., Ltd., which has promoted the settlement or establishment of major platforms such as the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center and Jiangsu Marine Information Technology and Equipment Innovation Center, adding energy to the high-quality development of the new material industry.

"In 2022, we expect the output value to exceed 1.7 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 21%." Lang Minghua, deputy manager of Aosheng R&D Department, said that the formation of a 100 billion yuan industrial cluster of new materials in Wujiang is also a huge benefit for enterprises, which will help to continuously improve the new materials industry chain, promote the free flow of resources and promote high-quality development of enterprises.

It is understood that Aosheng Technology is a high-tech enterprise mainly engaged in carbon fiber composite materials and a national "specialized, special and new" small giant enterprise. Its leading product, carbon fiber pultruded plate for wind power, has been awarded the single champion product of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In recent years, Wujiang has vigorously promoted the cultivation of new materials industry. While deeply implementing the Three Year Action Plan for Promoting the High Quality Development of Key Industrial Chains in Wujiang District (2021-2023), it has integrated the requirements of Suzhou's advanced materials industry innovation cluster into the cultivation of new materials industry in Wujiang District.

In 2022, Wujiang will select 106 new material enterprises with strong innovation ability and great development potential, establish a new material enterprise cultivation library, and continue to track and cultivate them. At the same time, actively promote the construction of innovation capacity of enterprises entering the warehouse, and cultivate 3 national enterprise technology centers and 45 provincial enterprise technology centers in total. In recent years, Wujiang has also continued to attract and construct a number of key new material projects. At present, there are 14 investment projects worth more than 100 million yuan in the field of new materials, with a total investment of 24.413 billion yuan, including 4.505 billion yuan in 2022.

Xu Guojiang, deputy director of Wujiang District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, said that Wujiang will guide traditional industries to accelerate the transformation to new materials, accelerate the elimination of low-end backward production capacity, encourage enterprises to carry out independent research and innovation, and enhance core creativity and competitiveness.
