Not long ago, Shengze Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, held a consultation meeting on the wage guidelines for ten major types of work in the textile industry, which released the wage guidelines for major types of work in the textile industry in 2023. The wages of ten major types of work, including spinners, winders and security workers, increased by 6% on the basis of 2022.
Shengze textile industry cluster has about 300000 employees, including Hengli Group and Shenghong Group, two of the world's top 500 enterprises, and more than 2500 production enterprises, with an annual textile output of more than 25 billion meters. The Oriental Market of China, located in Shengze, has gathered more than 7000 textile business operators from all over the world, and the market turnover has exceeded 100 billion yuan for seven consecutive years. It is understood that Shengze textile industrial cluster is the first industrial cluster to issue the minimum wage guideline in China, which has been playing a role in exploring the way for the construction and reform of industrial workers in the textile industry in Jiangsu Province and even in the whole country.
The salary guideline released this time was "issued" under the guidance and promotion of Jiangsu Finance, Trade and Light Textile Trade Union. In order to improve people's well-being and promote common prosperity, in April this year, the Jiangsu Finance, Trade and Light Textile Trade Union specially organized personnel to go deep into Shengze textile industry cluster, extensively exchanged and negotiated with enterprise operators, human resources directors, enterprise trade union cadres and front-line workers on income issues, and conducted a questionnaire survey of 1193 front-line workers in 23 textile enterprises, We have mastered the first-hand information about the employees' income status in 2022 and their expectations for income growth in 2023, providing a basis for Shengze Town to release the wage guidelines.
In addition, the Jiangsu Finance, Trade and Light Textile Trade Union also provided the participants with the main expected goals of Jiangsu's economic and social development in 2023, including economic growth, consumer price increase, per capita disposable income goals, the completion of major economic indicators of Jiangsu's textile industry in 2022, and the income of front-line workers in Jiangsu's textile industry in 2022, The production and operation of the surrounding leading textile enterprises in 2023 provided 59 reference data for the grass-roots level and sent them to the participants from the human resources and social security departments, industry associations, trade unions, and front-line workers one week in advance, laying the foundation for unifying ideas and building consensus, which was widely praised by the grass-roots level.
"Under the guidance of the provincial finance, trade and light textile trade union, the release of wage guidance price can not only avoid vicious competition between enterprises, promote the rational distribution of profits, but also provide reference for textile workers and enterprise leaders when negotiating wages, and enhance the sense of belonging and acquisition of workers." Shen Xiaolin, vice chairman of Wujiang District Federation of Trade Unions, said.
It is reported that enterprises in Shengze textile related industries are carrying out collective negotiation on wages for the new year, and some enterprises have adjusted wages for employees with reference to the new wage guidance price.
