Focus On The Gathering Place Of Key Textile Enterprises, Shaanxi Textile Association Strives For Development

On October 11, 2023, the third meeting of the fifth council of Shaanxi Textile Industry Association was held in Xianyang, Shaanxi. Representatives of the executive vice president and vice president units of the Association attended the meeting.

The meeting reported the operation of Shaanxi textile and clothing industry in the first three quarters of 2023, deployed the key work of the Association in the fourth quarter, and shared and exchanged information on the current industry situation and enterprise operation, providing new ideas for the healthy and high-quality development of the textile and clothing industry in the province. The meeting also announced the adjustment list of members of the Cotton Textile Professional Committee of the Association.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chen Quan, member of the Party Committee, chairman of the trade union and chief executive of Xianyang Industrial Investment Group, delivered a speech. Chen Quan introduced Xianyang Industrial Investment Group. Xianyang Industrial Investment Group is a group wholly-owned state-owned company focused by the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee and the Xianyang Municipal Government, integrating industrial investment, industrial services, industrial finance, construction and operation of industrial parks, development of state-owned resources (energy) and disposal of state-owned assets. The textile sector group has Xianfang Group and Dukepu Garment. The Group's next plan is to make efforts to supplement and extend the industrial chain. Now it is actively planning a green printing and dyeing project focusing on medium and high-end clothing and functional clothing fabrics. It is expected to build a number of dyeing lines, digital printing lines and corresponding supporting facilities. The implementation of this project will further promote the agglomeration and growth of the regional textile industry and enhance industrial competitiveness. Chen Quan said that Xianyang Industrial Investment Group will base on its main business, combine the industrial layout of the whole region, give full play to its advantages, strengthen industrial docking, deepen practical cooperation, and contribute to the high-quality development of Shaanxi textile industry.

Yang Huibin, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Department of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, reported the operation of the textile industry in China and Shaanxi Province since this year. Yang Huibin introduced that from the national perspective, the national textile industry dropped by 1.6% from January to August, the textile clothing industry dropped by 8.9%, the yarn output dropped by 10.8%, and the output increased by 24.1%. From the perspective of Shaanxi Province, 204 enterprises above designated size have completed an output value of 39.4 billion yuan, forming a pattern of industrial development dominated by textile industrial parks in Xi'an, Xianyang, Baoji, Ankang, Yulin, etc., including cotton textile, functional textile clothing, wool winter clothing, etc; From January to August, the textile industry decreased by 20.4%, 3.6 percentage points lower than the national level, and the yarn output decreased by 10.8%, 9.1 percentage points lower than the national level; Cloth production increased by 24.1%, 28.7 percentage points higher than that of the whole country. Against the backdrop of the decline of the national textile industry, the textile industry in Shaanxi Province continues to operate in a downturn, and the pressure on the steady growth of the whole industry is great. The main reasons are that the industrial chain is not perfect, the ability to build brands is weak, and the ability to transform scientific and technological achievements is not strong. In the next step, relevant government departments will actively support enterprises to apply for various projects, help enterprises to expand the market, and formulate and issue useful policies according to the "14th Five Year Plan" textile industry planning.

Yan Jiamin, President of Shaanxi Textile Industry Association, announced the recent key work in his speech and proposed several work to be carried out next. He said that Shaanxi, as a gathering place of key textile enterprises, has attracted the attention of various sectors of the industry. Since this year, China Textile Industry Federation and China Cotton Textile Industry Association have organized delegations to visit Shaanxi for many times. Through visiting enterprises, understanding enterprise culture, exchanging production technology, understanding the development status of textile enterprises, industry leaders jointly discussed new breakthroughs in Shaanxi textile development, and put forward important opinions and suggestions for high-quality development of Shaanxi textile enterprises. He affirmed Shaanxi's resource endowment and industrial science and technology foundation, and placed high hopes on Shaanxi's textile development.

Yan Jiamin said that this year is the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Shaanxi Textile Industry Association. Shaanxi Textile Industry Association will hold a selection and evaluation activity of "outstanding enterprises, entrepreneurs, growth oriented enterprises and employees in Shaanxi textile industry" in the near future. He gave a detailed description of the selection conditions and methods of this selection activity.

Yan Jiamin also introduced and explained matters related to the 2024 Shaanxi Textile Industry Vocational Skills Competition and issues related to the evaluation of engineering titles in building materials and textile industries in 2023. And call on enterprises to actively prepare for the war and actively sign up for the skill contest.

Yan Jiamin said that the Association will persist in seeking progress in stability, promote the development of the industry, further play an active role, continue to do a good job in coordinating services for Shaanxi textile industry, and make due contributions to the high-quality and rapid development of Shaanxi textile industry.

At the meeting, six enterprises including Xi'an Textile Group, Shaanxi Yuanfeng Textile Technology Research Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Xianyang Dukepu Garment Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Standard Industry Co., Ltd. made exchange speeches and shared their operation and excellent experience.
