Industrial Cluster: The South Xinjiang Reclamation Area Of The Corps Has A Good Way To Sow Seeds And Increase Efficiency
On April 5, in a cotton field of the Eighth Regiment of the First Division, growers drove planters to sow cotton with the technology of "dry sowing and wet out". At present, cotton planting in Aral City of the First Division is in full swing and is expected to end in the middle of April.
The rain moistens the mountains, and the wind blows everything. With the temperature gradually rising, millions of acres of cotton in the southern Xinjiang reclamation area of the Corps ushered in a critical sowing period.
During the interview in the South Xinjiang Reclamation Area, it was found that thanks to the promotion and application of new agricultural production models and new technologies, workers and people are now more relaxed in planting cotton and have more smiles on their faces.
"In the past, we used to plant cotton by flood irrigation. In recent years, we have changed to new technology, which not only saves time, labor and money, but also significantly improves cotton production, which everyone agreed." Wang Shunjian, a staff member of the 19th Company of the Third Division, the 50th Regiment, said cheerfully.
The "new technology" mentioned by Wang Shunjian refers to the "dry sowing and wet out" technology vigorously promoted and applied by the group in recent years. The shortage of water resources in the southern Xinjiang reclamation area of the Corps seriously restricts the development of agriculture. In recent years, various divisions and cities of the Corps have continuously explored and developed new technologies and models of efficient water-saving agriculture according to local conditions, and the technology of "dry sowing and wet emerging" has emerged as the times require. Today, this technology has been widely promoted in the southern Xinjiang reclamation area. Between fertile fields, a thriving picture of spring ploughing slowly unfolds.
Innovative methods to reduce costs
At present, cotton planting farms in Tumushuke City of the Third Division have begun to plant cotton in succession. Large cotton planters shuttle back and forth in a high standard farmland of the 42nd Regiment of the Third Division. Wherever the planter goes, the work of leveling the land, sowing, covering film, laying drip irrigation belt and so on is carried out synchronously, and the sowing speed is greatly improved.
After sowing, Cai Tianqi, a staff member of the Fourth Company of the 42nd Regiment, gathered up the unused drip irrigation belt while showing to the reporter: "This drip irrigation belt is the key to our use of the technology of" dry sowing and wet out ", which saves us a lot of agricultural water."
Seeing the reporter's curiosity, Cai Tianqi calculated an account for the reporter: before spring sowing, we had to irrigate the land by flooding to ensure the smooth emergence of cotton. Now, the technology of "dry sowing and wet discharging" is adopted, which saves 80-100 cubic meters of water per mu on average, saving 40 yuan.
Vigorously promote the construction of high standard farmland, promote the wide application of water-saving technologies such as "dry sowing and wet out"... In recent years, the "scientific and technological model" of the fields in the South Xinjiang Reclamation Area of the Corps has become more and more adequate, and the modernization level of agricultural production management has been constantly improved, with lower planting costs and higher efficiency.
Water is the lifeblood of agricultural development. Part of the Corps is located at the edge of the desert, and water resources are scarce. In order to realize the sustainable development of agriculture, several generations of XPCC people have made unremitting efforts to explore and practice, from sprinkler irrigation, spring irrigation, self pressure micro head hose irrigation to drip irrigation under film, and have found a way of agricultural water-saving with XPCC characteristics. "Dry sowing and wet out" technology is a new water-saving and production increasing technology popularized and applied by XPCC people in the new era.
Compared with the northern Xinjiang, the climate in the southern Xinjiang reclamation area is more arid and the soil salinity is higher. In 2012, the Corps began to explore how to "settle" this technology in southern Xinjiang, and the First Division Alar City took the lead in conducting experiments in the Third Corps.
"Considering the climate, soil quality and other factors of the Third Regiment, we have formed a high-frequency and low-pressure drip irrigation model through repeated experiments, which is suitable for cotton planting." Lian Wenming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the First Division Agricultural Science Institute, said, "Practice has proved that the technology of 'dry seeding and wet seeding' has a great space for popularization and application in the southern Xinjiang reclamation area. The key is to adopt different planting methods according to different soil quality, salinity, climate and water supply to ensure the emergence rate."
Technical empowerment increases output
On April 1, in a high-yield and efficient demonstration field in the ninth company of the 44th Regiment of the Third Division, several workers were carefully cleaning up the residual plastic film to prepare for cotton planting this year.
"In 2023, the per unit yield of seed cotton in this cotton field will reach 500 kg, an increase of 50 kg over the previous year, which is attributed to the application of the technology of" dry sowing and wet out "." Lu Shun, deputy secretary of the Party branch of the Ninth Company of the 44th Regiment and company leader of the Company Management Committee, said.
Tumushuke City of the Third Division is located at the edge of Taklimakan Desert, with dry climate and serious salinization of soil. In recent years, with the popularization and application of saline alkali land improvement technology and the continuous updating and upgrading of agricultural machinery and equipment, the technology of "dry sowing and wet out" has been greatly used in Tumushuke City of the Third Division.
Tumushuke City of the Third Division vigorously demonstrated and promoted the technology of "dry sowing and wet out" according to the local actual situation. In 2020, the city took the lead in applying the technology of "dry sowing and wet out" in the 3000 mu cotton field of the 51st Regiment, which was successful. In 2021, the application of "dry sowing and wet out" technology in the 72000 mu cotton field of Shishi City will be successful again.
In 2022, Zhang Chenxu, a staff member of the Seventh Company of the 49th Regiment, will try to apply the technology of "dry sowing and wet discharging" in his own cotton field. "At first, we always felt confident. During the planting process, agricultural experts from the teacher city and the regiment farm often came to guide us." Zhang Chenxu said, "When the cotton is harvested, not only the yield per unit area is improved, but also the quality is improved."
In 2022, Tumushuke City, the Third Division, will plant 670000 mu of cotton with the technology of "dry sowing and wet production". The unit yield of seed cotton will increase by 55 kg over the previous year. The six cotton quality indicators will rank second in the Corps, and the cotton quality will reach the best level in history.
"In 2023, we will plant 800000 mu of cotton with the 'dry seeding and wet seeding' technology, and the cotton emergence rate will increase from about 80% to more than 90%." Li Xiaojun, a staff member of the Economic Development Department of Tumushuke Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Third Division, said, "We will also extend this technology to the planting of wheat, corn and other grain crops, and have achieved good results."
Service guarantee promotes revenue increase
"Last year, the 200000 mu cotton field of the whole regiment used the 'dry seeding and wet seeding' planting technology, and the cotton seedlings were strong and neat, with obvious yield increase." Shen Xiaohong, the head of the Agricultural Development Service Center of the First Division and the Second Regiment, said, "Cotton will be sown again soon. The 'dry seeding and wet seeding' technology can artificially control the sowing date according to the weather conditions, so as to improve the emergence rate of cotton."
Since 2021, the Agricultural and Rural Bureau of Alar City, the First Division, in conjunction with the Water Conservancy Bureau, the Institute of Agricultural Sciences and other departments, has held agricultural technology seminars for many times to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on the "dry seeding and wet out" technology, and at the same time, organize personnel to observe and learn in areas with mature technology to accumulate experience. Each cotton growing farm will promote the application of "dry sowing and wet out" technology according to local conditions in combination with its own reality.
"Last year, we planted 1.7 million mu of cotton with the technology of 'dry seeding and wet seeding'. This year, more than 2 million mu of cotton fields in Shishi will all use the technology of 'dry seeding and wet seeding'," said He Jin, head of the agricultural management section of the Alar Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the First Division, "During the critical period of cotton growth, we will organize all units to hold a field observation meeting on the 'dry seeding and wet seeding' technology, carefully summarize the planting experience, form a complete technical procedure, and lay a solid foundation for better promotion of this technology."
In order to vigorously promote the application of the technology of "dry seeding and wet seeding", Tumushuke City, the Third Division, has increased its financial support and invested 12 million yuan in the past three years to subsidize employees' purchase of cotton land preparation machinery and seeding machinery.
Well planted, well managed. Every year during the spring ploughing and spring sowing period, Tumushuke City of the Third Division establishes a technical service group for spring ploughing and spring sowing to provide itinerant technical guidance services for agricultural production of each farm in different areas.
"Last year, under the guidance of technicians, cotton grew well and enjoyed a good harvest. I hope there will be a good harvest this year!" said Yasen Yusuf, cotton grower of the Second Company of the Fifth Regiment of the Third Division.
