Industrial Cluster: Xinjiang Cotton Production And Processing Process Quality Monitoring Results Released

On March 20, China Fiber Quality Monitoring Center released the monitoring results of cotton production and processing quality in Xinjiang in 2023. This monitoring is carried out by fiber quality monitoring institutions in Xinjiang. The monitoring period is from April 2023 to February 2024. This is the sixth consecutive year that China Fiber Quality Monitoring Center has monitored the quality of cotton production and processing in Xinjiang.

This year, 21 cotton processing enterprises were monitored, involving 59 cotton farmers, with a cotton planting area of 93690 mu, 22 cotton varieties, including 14 local main varieties, and 12860 monitored cotton samples.

The monitoring results showed that the cotton quality in Xinjiang continued to improve.

First, the comprehensive fiber quality of large stack sampling inspection is significantly better than that of 2021 and 2022.

Second, the quality of high-quality varieties is outstanding. Variety Jinken 1775, fiber length and breaking strength reach the "double 31" standard; The fiber length and breaking strength of Yuanmian 8, Xintamian 3, Huiyuan 720, Xinluzhong 61, Xinluzao 65, Xinluzhong 54 and other varieties reached the "double 30" standard.

Third, scientific field management has a great impact on cotton quality. Appropriate planting density and fertilizer and water application are important guarantees to ensure the normal development of cotton fiber.

Fourth, reasonable processing technology is conducive to maintaining the inherent quality of cotton.

Processing technology has a prominent impact on cotton quality. Seed cotton cleaning has a negative effect on fiber length and length uniformity, a small effect on breaking strength and micronaire value, and a significant positive effect on color grade;

The ginning link has a negative effect on the specific breaking strength of the fiber, but has little effect on the fiber length, length uniformity, micronaire value and color grade;

Skin cleaning has a negative effect on the fiber quality, in which the fiber length, length uniformity, and specific breaking strength are all reduced, the micronaire value is less affected, and the color level is improved, but the extent is small.
