International Wool Textile Organization Wool Round Table Conference Held In Istanbul

On November 27-28, the wool round table conference of the International Wool Textile Organization was successfully held in Istanbul, Turkey. 90 delegates from 25 countries attended the meeting. The conference was hosted by the International Wool Textile Organization and hosted by the Turkish Textile Entrepreneur Alliance.

At the opening ceremony, Klaus Steger, the chairman of the International Wool Textile Organization, said that the wool textile industry was facing multiple challenges of complicated global economic and political situations and sustainable development and rules. The industry needs to jointly safeguard the future of industrial development, promote the market positioning of wool as a sustainable fiber and product, and protect the interests of the wool textile industry and enterprises.

The meeting focused on the preparation of the latest green book of the International Wool Textile Organization. The Green Book aims to provide a compilation of sustainability related standards for the integrity of the whole industrial chain from farms to consumers. It will be used to provide brand merchants, retailers and final consumers with relevant expertise and services, understand the sustainability evaluation standards of wool, and introduce the use of sustainability evaluation systems and tools in a comprehensive and objective way through cases, Help users make decisions on wool purchase.

Zhang Shuqin, deputy secretary-general of China Wool Textile Industry Association, participated in the meeting on behalf of the conference, exchanged and discussed with the International Wool Textile Organization on the cooperation between China's wool textile industry and the international wool textile industry in sustainable development, and attended the executive committee meeting of the International Wool Textile Organization on behalf of Liu Jiaqiang, president of China Wool Textile Industry Association, This paper introduces the latest situation of China's wool textile industry and the preparation progress of the International Woolen Textile Conference to be held in Dalang in 2026.
