The First Commercial Project Of Eder Group'S Waterless Dyeing Technology Was Officially Launched

On January 10, 2025, the first commercial breakthrough of waterless dyeing technology, a subversive cutting-edge technology developed by Investec Group with ten years of dedication, was officially launched in Shihezi Textile and Garment Industrial Park, which attracted wide attention both inside and outside the industry. The purpose of this cooperation is to effectively solve the problems of water shortage and pollution discharge faced by Xinjiang's textile printing and dyeing industry, promote the extensive application of waterless dyeing technology in Xinjiang in the long run, drive Xinjiang and more regions to pay attention to the research, development and application of green printing and dyeing technology, and jointly promote the green transformation and vigorous development of the textile and clothing industry.
? In recent years, the global attention to green environmental protection and sustainable development is increasing. Textile printing and dyeing is a traditional high water consumption and high pollution industry. For example, in the production process of traditional water bath dyeing, 1 ton of cotton yarn dyeing usually requires about 120 tons of water, and a large amount of dyeing wastewater with high salinity, high chroma and high organic matter will also be generated. Therefore, it is faced with an urgent need for transformation. As a global knowledge-based innovation enterprise, it took Yida ten years to invest in three groups of post doctors and a team of more than 100 researchers. After tens of thousands of experiments, it finally successfully developed and issued a subversive waterless dyeing technology, completely solving the high water consumption and high pollution problems that have plagued the textile printing and dyeing industry for many years. This waterless dyeing technology project has been successfully put into commercial use, which not only demonstrates the outstanding strength of the innovative research and development of Yida Group, but also injects new impetus into the green transformation of the textile printing and dyeing industry and provides a broader space for its long-term development.
Chen Gong, an R&D engineer of anhydrous dyeing, said, "It's not easy to come down in this decade. Our R&D team has gone through thousands of tests just to find an organic solvent formula that can replace water." In 2017, The waterless dyeing technology was selected into the "National Key Research and Development Project" of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the project was successfully completed and accepted by the end of 2021, and was rated as "internationally leading" and "industry pioneering" technology by the expert group of the China Textile Industry Federation. Since then, the team has spent five years developing the dynamic process of anhydrous dyeing to precisely control the temperature, pressure, concentration, etc. of the new solvent dyeing reaction, so that it can also maintain stability, efficiency, environmental protection and controllable cost under the condition of industrial scale production. To achieve this goal, the team has also developed a series of supporting dyeing equipment in cooperation with head equipment manufacturers.
The anhydrous dyeing technology uses environmentally friendly and recyclable non-aqueous media to replace water for reactive dye dyeing, completely avoiding the hydrolysis side reaction of reactive dyes in water bath dyeing, successfully realizing the recycling utilization rate of dyeing media of more than 99.8%, the dye fixation rate of more than 97% (far exceeding the industry average of 60%), the chemical consumption of 73%, the production efficiency of 50%, and no need to wash after dyeing, Historically, a breakthrough has been achieved in the near zero discharge of dyeing and dyeing water, salt and wastewater. The environment of the dyeing workshop is dry and fresh, and there is no picture of water vapor transpiration and wastewater discharge commonly seen in traditional workshops.
In order to ensure the green and transparent of the whole industrial chain, in recent years, Yida has also cooperated with its business partners to develop a waterless dyeing certification traceability system. The system relies on blockchain technology to link all production data of fiber, yarn, fabric to clothing, and build a clear green production track. Advanced and perfect technology, equipment, certification... all these have become the key points for the project to be put into commercial use quickly.
Cotton textile and clothing ranks among the top ten pillar industries in Xinjiang, and Shihezi is the production base of high-quality fine staple cotton, medium long staple cotton and colored cotton in Xinjiang. With abundant cotton production, it has unique geographical advantages and industrial foundation in textile and clothing; At present, Shihezi Textile and Garment Industrial Park is also gradually building a complete industrial chain covering the whole process of spinning, water bath dyeing, woven fabrics, fabric finishing and so on, which also provides a good industrial foundation for the commercialization of waterless dyeing technology.
In a speech at the signing ceremony, the enterprise representative of Investec Group said that since its establishment in 1978, on the basis of focusing on traditional textile and clothing manufacturing, Investec Group has been actively promoting the innovation and green transformation of the textile industry. Over the years, in terms of independent research and development covering waterless dyeing, natural dyeing, salt recycling, long staple cotton gene sequencing and other industry-leading technologies, great attention has been paid to the practicality and foresight of technology, striving to minimize water consumption and environmental impact, while constantly improving production efficiency, reducing production costs, and improving employee income.

The cooperation with Yida on the waterless dyeing project will create a benchmark and model for Xinjiang to innovate green dyeing technology, and effectively solve the problems of water shortage and sewage discharge faced by Xinjiang's dyeing industry. At the same time, it is hoped that this cooperation can drive the strong chain, extension and supplement of Xinjiang's textile and clothing industry, and promote the vigorous and long-term development of the textile industry.
