On March 11, 2025 China International Textile Yarn (Spring/Summer) Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "yarnexfo Spring/Summer Yarn Exhibition") was grandly opened in Hall 8.2 of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). 　　 Jiang Junhua: General technology new material was founded in 2020, and its core member, China Textile Institute, was founded in 1956. After 69 years of development, it has always led the technological transformation of the industry. Its research field has expanded from traditional cotton, wool, silk and hemp to chemical fiber, bio based fiber and functional materials, forming a full chain innovation capability covering fiber material preparation technology, equipment research and development, and industrial application. At the 2025 Yarnexfo Spring/Summer Yarn Exhibition, the General Technology and New Materials Exhibition Group displayed a number of new technologies and products around the green transformation of the industry.

Among them, Lysell fiber is a highlight. Lyocell fiber is known as "the fiber of the 21st century" for its environmental protection and degradability. The raw materials come from wood or bamboo. The whole production process is a physical process without chemical pollution. After more than 10 years of research and development, General Technology China Textile Institute has successfully achieved the localization of Lyocell fiber production, breaking the foreign monopoly. Since 2015, General Technology China Textile Institute has gradually promoted the industrialization construction of Lyocell fiber, gradually expanding the production capacity from thousand ton line to 110000 tons, promoting the rapid development of Lyocell fiber industry in China, making this high-end material popular, expanding from high-end clothing to home textile, non-woven fabrics, denim fabrics and other fields.

General technology new material also shows the complete set of dry spinning technology for UHMWPE fiber. General Technology China Textile Institute has been developing high molecular weight polyethylene fiber for many years. The sling used for the closure of Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge is made of ultra-high strength polyethylene fiber. In addition, medical absorbable suture related technology, domestic polyphenylene sulfide fiber industrialization technology, new generation polycaprolactam fiber industrialization technology, biodegradable PBAT continuous equipment technology and other innovative technologies.

　　 Jiang Junhua: In terms of new products, General Technology New Materials has launched a variety of differentiated functional fibers, such as flame retardant Lyocell fiber, liquid dyed Lyocell fiber, conductive fiber, etc. The traditional special purpose clothing mostly uses polyester, nylon and other synthetic fibers, which are easy to produce molten drops and twist into a ball in case of fire, causing skin burns. The flame-retardant Lyocell fiber can extinguish itself from the fire without causing molten drop damage.

The traditional printing and dyeing industry is facing severe environmental challenges. The liquid dyed Lyssell fiber is dyed before spinning, which can solve the dyeing pollution dilemma from the source.

Conductive fiber was transformed from a technology that was awarded the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award by China Textile Institute of General Technology in 2008. Previously, conductive fibers had to be imported from Japan or Europe. The price of conductive fiber has also dropped from 800000 yuan/ton to 120000 yuan/ton after China Textile Institute of General Technology localized this technology. The fiber is mainly used in antistatic work clothes and special purpose clothes, and has the function of eliminating static electricity.
