Entrepreneurship Education: Let Students Learn To Be "Bosses"

    2007/6/11 0:00:00 11

Xiao Zhao is going to graduate from a vocational school this year. He has run several recruitment fairs, but he still has no job.

Therefore, relatives and friends advised him to try his own boss together with his major.

Although he is a vocational school, Xiao Zhao hardly ever thought about starting his own business after graduation.

How to apply for industrial and commercial license, what are the regulations of finance, tax and so on?

Xiao Zhao said that if the school not only teaches professional knowledge, it can also teach some basic knowledge of self employment, but it may be more confident that it can do it now.

It is believed that there are many graduates like Xiao Zhao. This problem has also attracted the attention of all sectors of society.

On this year's "two sessions" in Shunde, Liao Sui, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and a teacher from a secondary vocational school in Shunde, submitted a proposal to launch "entrepreneurship education for young people in our district".

It is a neglected topic in entrepreneurship education. Shunde people have a fine tradition of starting their own businesses.

Kelong, Mei and other famous enterprises started from a small workshop in those years.

Shunde has many well-known large enterprises and tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises.

It can be said that Shunde's economy can be brilliant today, and it is inseparable from the pioneering spirit of Shunde people.

Compared with their parents, the environment that these students are facing today has changed dramatically.

Do young people living in an advantageous environment have entrepreneurial passion like their parents?

Do they master basic entrepreneurial skills?

Liao Sui, a teacher in charge of education for many years, is also the host of the "heart warming line" of the Communist Youth League Committee. She has a deep understanding of young people's ideological situation.

Liao said that when she answered the "heart line", she often asked her students who had just graduated to consult her about their work.

She found that many young people are very demanding about their work environment and remuneration. They do not pay enough wages and do away with their families. They are afraid of failure and hardship when they start their own businesses.

She analyzed that young people are almost all grown up in sweet water. During their growing up, they saw more fruits of reform and opening up. They saw the red hot lives of their parents living in villas, driving cars and traveling abroad, and knew little about the hardships and efforts of their parents.

So in some young people, there is also the phenomenon of learning to be afraid of difficulties, working hard, and indulging in pleasure without thinking about starting a business.

Although this phenomenon is not mainstream among teenagers, it deserves our attention.

School education is an important stage of a person's growth.

In western developed countries, entrepreneurship education is a compulsory course.

In the United States, employment and entrepreneurship education courses are generally offered from primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, universities and even graduate students.

As early as 1998, the United States began to popularize advanced education among middle school students in finance, investment, finance, marketing and business, and actively fostering "future managers".

In recent years, France has launched activities such as "running enterprises in secondary schools" and "teaching students to run enterprises".

The purpose is not to require students to run enterprises, but to enable students to make psychological preparations for career choice and employment while continuing their studies, and cultivate their interest and ability in exploring entrepreneurship.

Compared with these developed countries, our education is still in the stage of exam oriented education.

Parents value the scores of students' exams. It seems that the purpose of children's school is to score high marks.

Do not say that there is no entrepreneurship education in ordinary high schools, that is, Career Academy in Shunde vocational college has almost no decent entrepreneurship education courses.

The society needs more "small boss". In fact, no matter what kind of school you attend, the ultimate goal is only one: employment or entrepreneurship.

In the age of planned economy, people can only enter "units" after graduation.

With the development of society, self employment will be the main form of employment in the future. The society needs more "small boss".

The employment problem is a social problem of common concern all over the world, and China's employment problem is particularly prominent.

Faced with the enormous pressure of employment, although our economy still maintains a relatively high growth rate, the employment capacity and actual employment demand created by economic development are declining year by year.

When a large number of labor force face relatively limited jobs, it will inevitably lead to large-scale job competition.

Today's young people can only win the opportunity in the future job competition by having the skills of both employment and entrepreneurship.

Youth is the hope and future of Shunde.

In the past economic competition, the Shunde people have taken the lead. To achieve sustainable development of Shunde's economy, more young people who need to start their own businesses need to emerge.

Entrepreneurship education is a common concern: whether a person can become a boss is subject to many factors, but his education and social environment will have an important impact on his growth.

Youth entrepreneurship education needs the common concern of the whole society.

According to Cui Jianwu, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, "guiding youth entrepreneurship and serving the overall development" has always been the main line of the Communist Youth League Committee.

Through the Youth League, the Federation of Youth Entrepreneurs and other associations, they have extended their talents to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao associations, broaden their horizons and create business opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

Since 2002, the Communist Youth League and the Hongkong Municipal Youth Chamber of Commerce jointly organized the "Eagle Star creative business award", which has been launched three times this year, and has launched a model of Shunde youth entrepreneurship, such as Luo Weiman, Chen Jiye and Lu Peifeng.

This activity has set up a local entrepreneurial example for young people in Shunde, greatly stimulating young people's entrepreneurial passion.

It is impossible to change the exam oriented education model that has been formed for many years. But some practical and systematic entrepreneurship education courses in vocational schools should be able to do so.

It is especially important for the majority of parents to change their minds. Besides caring for their children's test scores, they should also pay attention to the cultivation of their entrepreneurial ability.

Whether it is to solve personal employment or to achieve sustainable social development, it is equally important for children to learn to be "small boss" and let them master masters and doctorate.

In this year's "two sessions" proposal, Liao Sui suggested that the news media should widely publicize the experience of hard working and successful local entrepreneurs, combine entrepreneurship education with community education and school education activities to stimulate young people's entrepreneurial enthusiasm and enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
