After March, Textile And Garment Exports Increased By 50%.
According to the data released by China Customs General Administration, in March 2008, China's textile and apparel exports amounted to US $11 billion 827 million, an increase of 49.19% over the same period last year, of which 5 billion 61 million US dollars in textile exports, an increase of 53.36% over the same period last year, and 6 billion 766 million US dollars in clothing exports, an increase of 44.99% over the same period last year.
In the first quarter of this year, China's textile and clothing exports totaled US $37 billion 444 million, up 19.44% over the same period last year. Among them, textile exports amounted to US $14 billion 243 million, an increase of 28.08% over the same period last year, and clothing exports amounted to US $23 billion 201 million, an increase of 14.69% over the same period last year.
Shi Hongmei, an analyst at Orient Securities, said that from the data, it was better than expected. In March, the export volume was relatively normal and the increase was relatively large. This may be related to the lower base of the Spring Festival last year, and the increase in the number of textile enterprises after the disaster this year. The increase in the first quarter was 19.44%, indicating that the export of textile and clothing has also returned to normal level.
In January this year, China's textile and clothing exports increased by US $14 billion 984 million, an increase of 25.21% over the same period last year, of which 5 billion 575 million US dollars in textile exports and 9 billion 409 million US dollars in clothing exports, which increased by 33.63% and 20.71% respectively. In February, the export volume of textile and clothing was 10 billion 288 million US dollars, down 8.5% from the same period last year due to the snowstorm weather. Textile exports were 3 billion 794 million US dollars, down by 0.71% compared with the same period last year.
