The United States Decides That Vietnam'S Clothing Is Not Dumping To The United States.
The Commerce Department announced in May 6th that after 6 months of data check, no evidence of dumping was found in clothing imported from Vietnam.
The US Commerce Department said at a news conference on the same day: "after receiving second six month data from the monitoring plan of clothing imported from Vietnam, there is no obvious increase indicating that it can authorize self action and anti-dumping investigations."
In the second phase of the survey, which was imported from August 2007 to January 2008, the commerce department inspected 5 different types of import data from Vietnam, including trousers, shirts, underwear, swimsuits and sportswear.
No evidence of dumping was found.
The US Department of Commerce compares the prices of products imported from Vietnam and products imported from other countries, including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, Kampuchea, China Macao, Malaysia and Philippines.
Although no products imported from Vietnam threaten domestic clothing companies, the US Department of Commerce said that the Ministry of Commerce will continue to monitor the products imported from Vietnam in the next 6 months, which will start in September.
