China International Fashion Trade Fair Opens
The 3 day International Trade Fair for China's international clothing opened in July 14th.
Although the organizers have strongly soliciting 300 exhibitors of garment export, however, because of the dark clouds hanging over the international market, the export of clothing is still difficult for China, especially the garment export enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region.
There are not many international buyers.
Compared with the International Trade Fair for women's wear and accessories, which was held in early January this year, the July 14th International Trade Fair on clothing seems to be even more deserted.
On the surface, the number of spectators in the stadium can not be very small, but there are not many real international buyers.
In the eyes of exhibitors, those who are domestic buyers and ordinary spectators are not really professional spectators.
Cheng Jianfei, the exhibitor of Shanghai flying apparel company, said that on the first day of the exhibition in January, he brought a box of business cards all the morning, but only two or three pieces were sent today, and only one real foreign businessman had seen it.
He said there was hope for the fair, hoping to see some international buyers, but the export situation was much more severe than I expected.

To do export business, customers are the most important buyers.

The fact that the clothing trade fair is rather cold is actually a true portrayal of China's exports, especially clothing and other traditional exports.
According to the General Administration of customs, the export of clothing and accessories in China in the first half of this year was 49 billion 960 million US dollars, a slight increase of 3.4% over the same period last year.
The decline in garment exports this year has been confirmed at the opening of the fair in July 14th.
The 7 exhibitors interviewed by the Jiefang Daily reported that the number of actual exports of clothing has been less than the same period this year.
The Industrial and Trading Company of Shanghai County airlines, a former export dealer, has seen fewer socks exports this year than last year.
There are many reasons for export difficulties, she said. The main reason is that the US subprime mortgage crisis has resulted in a reduction in demand in the international market, a continued appreciation of the renminbi, a reduction in the export tax rebate rate, a rise in the price of raw materials, and an increase in labor costs.
Wu Fei, manager of the Ministry of foreign trade of Eastern Asia Industries Hungary Ltd, Dongyang, Zhejiang, said that since the export of jeans and knitted garments this year, the unit price has increased by 10%, but it still can not keep up with the pace of RMB appreciation and raw material price rise. The profit margin of export sales has dropped by nearly 1/3 compared with the same period last year, forcing the near loss threshold.
Now, many foreign trade enterprises in Zhejiang have closed down because they can not afford to continue.
You know, it is very difficult to start and maintain a business, and it is even easier to get rid of the lost international market and customers.
Struggling to save oneself and looking forward to government support
The difficulty of export is not an individual phenomenon encountered by two enterprises.
However, at the scene of the pnational clothing procurement fair, some enterprises are not complaining about the negative waiting, but do everything possible to save themselves.
Xie Xiaogang, an export salesperson of Jiashan Qijia knitted apparel company, told us that in the past, our company's customer level was relatively low. Now we take the way of adjusting the customers, open up new sources of tourists, replace the original low-level customers with higher level international buyers, so that the price can be raised.
But our requirements for customers are high, and the conditions for customers to open to us are also improved.
But in any case, this must go through.
Cheng Jianfei's flying company adopted the method of extending the industrial chain to tide over difficulties.
He said that although we do OEM processing as most garment exporters do, we do not simply engage in production.
We have a garment design team of more than 10 people. In this link, the price of clothing export is higher than that of peers, and there are more ways to deal with difficulties.
Besides, even if the production is not sustainable, we can shut down the two factories. We can only survive in clothing design.
Of course, these business people also understand that when the wind and waves come, it is hard for them to escape from bad luck only by their own efforts. They eagerly look forward to the government's policies to support them, and they expect to revive the export power.
