In 1-6 months, the total import and export volume of Guangdong amounted to US $324 billion 506 million, accounting for 26.3% of the total import and export value of the same period.

However, 13.4% of the growth rate of imports and exports, not only increased by 9.3 percentage points year-on-year, but also lower than the national average of 26.3%.

In the whole import and export, total exports amounted to 187 billion 830 million US dollars, an increase of 13%, a drop of 13.5 percentage points; total imports of 136 billion 676 million US dollars, an increase of 13.9%, down 3.9 percentage points; and the foreign trade surplus of 51 billion 154 million US dollars, an increase of 10.6%, down by 46.2 percentage points.

The statistical report obtained by our newspaper shows that in the first half of this year, Guangdong's export of textile and clothing (including textile yarn, fabrics and products, clothing and accessories) was 15 billion 140 million dollars, down 22.7% from the same period last year, which is in sharp contrast with the 31.3% growth rate in the same period last year.

In June, Guangdong exported 2 billion 920 million US dollars of textile and clothing, a sharp decrease of 46.3%, a drop in the same month compared with the previous month, a monthly decline in exports since 2007.

In the first half of the year, Guangdong exported 37.4% of its textile and apparel trade in general trade, down 37.4%, accounting for 53.1% of the total value of Guangdong's textile and garment exports in the same period.

Over the same period, processing trade exported 6 billion 380 million US dollars, an increase of 1.7%, accounting for 42.1%; bonded warehouses exported 500 million US dollars, and the contrarian growth was 33.6%.

According to the division of enterprises, foreign investment enterprises have been growing slowly, and private enterprises have dropped sharply.

In the first half of this year, foreign invested enterprises in Guangdong province exported $6 billion 990 million of textile and clothing, an increase of 5.3%, accounting for 46.2%, and private enterprises exported 4 billion 690 million of textile and clothing, down 51.2%, accounting for 31%.

In addition, state-owned enterprises exported 2 billion 900 million US dollars, an increase of 9.7%, accounting for 19.1%.

In the export market, Guangdong textile and garment exports to Hongkong and the United States declined, and exports to the EU increased significantly.

According to the report, Hongkong, the European Union and the United States are the top three markets for textile and clothing exports in Guangdong. In the first half of this year, Guangdong's total exports to the above three markets totaled 9 billion 910 million US dollars, accounting for 65.4%.

Among them, Hongkong and the United States exported 5 billion 130 million US dollars and US $1 billion 790 million respectively, down by 15.6% and 23% respectively.

In January 1st this year, the EU lifted the quota restrictions on imports of 10 categories of textiles imported from China. In the first half of this year, Guangdong's exports to the EU showed an upward trend in exports of textiles and clothing, with a total export of US $2 billion 980 million, an increase of 68.4%.

In addition, exports of textile yarns, fabrics and products also showed an upward trend.

In the first half of this year, the export garments and accessories of Guangdong exported 10 billion 800 million US dollars, down 31.3%, exports of textile yarn, fabrics and products were exported to US $4 billion 340 million, and the corresponding trend increased by 12.4%.
