In 2002, the total output value of knitting industry was roughly 21.7% in Zhejiang, 21.22% in Guangdong, 18.9% in Jiangsu, 11.9% in Shandong, 11.38% in Shanghai, 11.46% in Fujian, and 4.4% in other regions.

The development space of knitted products from inside to outside is increasing.
For underwear, the diversification of functions and the differentiation of varieties make the underwear market expand continuously. For the outer garment, under the condition of the increasing leisure wind, the knitted jacket has the elasticity and sag that can not be reached because of its own structural characteristics, and is loved by people.

Branding is also a trend in the future. The biggest weakness of our national brand lies in its insufficient creativity.
The output of Guangdong and Shandong is large, but most of them are OEM production. The old brands such as three guns have begun to go downhill. Foreign brands such as CK are rapidly occupying China's high-end market.
How to enhance core competitiveness by brand in fierce competition is a common problem facing the knitting industry.
In addition, we have worked out quality standards and testing regulations that conform to international standards to break through the blockade of "green barriers" and promote healthy competition among domestic enterprises. The development of new technology and the training of R & D talents are also the trend of the whole industry.
Lacquer general also put forward that "nowadays college students' understanding of fabric is still not thorough enough. It is not clear what kind of fabric can achieve their desired design effect. This is an aspect that schools should pay attention to."
