In November 6th, the third member congress of Yantai garment industry association closed.

With the support of the municipal government and provincial and municipal departments concerned, the conference has successfully completed the change of the association by working hand in hand, coping with the new challenges and building a strong garment industry in Yantai.

Wu Jianmin, chairman and general manager of Shandong sulang clothing and Accessories Co., Ltd. was elected the new president.

Under the current financial crisis, members of the participating committee agreed that the development of the garment industry has been under great pressure, especially on the export oriented garment enterprises.

However, as an independent innovation brand, the company is relatively calm.

In the past ten years, Wu Jianmin has focused on the research and development of design functions. He has built up his own design team in Beijing, Shanghai, Hongkong, Milan and other places, with hundreds of senior and middle designers, focusing on the innovation of marketing function, expanding marketing channels, and establishing more than 600 stores in the whole country, not only enjoying high reputation in the big cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, Harbin, Dalian, etc., but also entering the big cities such as Wuhan, Wuhan, Nanjing, trap, and so on.

At present, the staffs of Shu Lang are very stable and their work enthusiasm is unprecedentedly high.

After nearly ten years of development, Shu Lang became the only national famous brand in Shandong province. In 2007, she became the most profitable company in China's apparel industry.

Wu Jianmin, the newly elected president, was very complacent. At the general meeting, he gave the members of the city no exception to introduce the practice of design, research, production management, market development and promotion of human resources.

Wu Jianmin believes that although the clothing companies are facing a severe test, the city's garment enterprises can overcome challenges if they unite and help each other, complement each other's strengths, face the crisis and seek common development.

Wu Jianmin said: "the future development of Yantai's clothing industry must build its own industrial chain, only in this way can we cultivate our own brand."

He set three goals for the new association: the short-term goal is to develop a group of enterprises that are willing to create their own brands and have the ability and conditions to create their own brands in the counties and cities. The medium term goal is to make textile and clothing the pillar industry of Yantai's economic development through the development of three to five years. The long-term goal is to build Yantai into a seaport city with the reputation of "delicious fruit and wine and fashionable dress" through the efforts of several generations of Yantai costumes, so that the clothing and fashion industry will become a beautiful business card of Yantai city.

At the end of the general session, Wu Jianmin organized personnel to investigate and exchange the situation of the scale clothing enterprises in various counties and cities, and to seek common development initiatives.
