Developing Headquarters Economy And Promoting Shoe Industry Upgrading
The first thing for Shenzhen leather industry to upgrade its industry is to develop headquarters economy.
Liang Huinan, President of Longgang Footwear Association, thinks that the appreciation of RMB, the rising cost of raw materials, and the adjustment of policies are all factors that we all face. Shenzhen is also facing more pressure on land resources and labor costs. This is a more severe challenge for the footwear industry, a labor-intensive industry.
"This year, we have issued an initiative to members to develop headquarters economy, leaving design, research and development, sales and trade in Shenzhen, and production can be pferred moderately to low-cost areas."
Liang Huinan himself has many factories and trading companies such as shoe factories, shoe materials and so on in Longgang and Dongguan.
He said frankly that this year is also considering the closure of shoe materials factories in Shenzhen, and gradually shifting production links to Dongguan and Huidong, but headquarters must stay in Shenzhen.
"Resources and foundations are here, and Shenzhen's brand advantages are incomparable elsewhere."
Founded in the 80s of last century, the footwear industry of Jia Hao was expanded on the basis of the original factory buildings in Henggang in 2005, which is mainly used to expand the development capability of the company.
They have gone to Huidong to build a large industrial park with an area of about 400000 square meters and undertake the pfer of production in Shenzhen.
Chen Xiaoming, general manager of Jia Hao Yun, said that it used to be "walking on one leg", mainly for export processing.

Liu Weidong, deputy secretary-general of the leather industry association, said that they had been formulating relevant headquarters economic planning, and initially planned to build a 20 thousand square meter Shenzhen leather shoes industry headquarters building in Longhua. On the one hand, it should guide enterprises' industrial pfer in an orderly way and seek development and survival space outwards. On the one hand, the brand advantage of Shenzhen accumulated over the years will continue to benefit the enterprises.

At the world footwear development forum held in Dongguan earlier this year, Liang Yaowen, director of the Guangdong provincial foreign trade department, offered a good prescription to many shoe making enterprises: "only technology research and development is the only way out for shoemaking industry."
Liu Weidong, based on the "Matthew effect" of Shenzhen shoe enterprises, supports this view: "simply making export processing profits is too thin, and it is hard to resist wind and waves."
The pformation of enterprises from simple OEM to ODM (D:design, design and manufacture) and OBM (B:brand, brand manufacturing) is the only way to gain a firm foothold.
In addition, enterprises should be encouraged to open up the domestic market.

Liu Weidong revealed that the association is working hard to run an annual "Shenzhen Leather Fair" in Shenzhen to make the influence like Shenzhen jewelry exhibition and furniture fair.
"Shenzhen is the manufacturing base of domestic leather products. Shenzhen's elite women's shoes are also the leading position in the whole country. There should be a good platform to help promote it."
