Henan'S Clothing Exports Fell For The First Time In 17 Years

Due to changes in the international market situation, garment export enterprises in Henan province have also been hit hard.

Yesterday, statistics released by the Henan entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau showed that for the first time in 17 years, the export of garment exports in Henan dropped sharply.

Influenced by many unfavorable factors such as adjustment of national industrial policy, appreciation of RMB, increase of labor cost, high price of raw materials, and increase of foreign technical barriers to trade, the garment export enterprises which were originally earning little profit were more difficult.

According to statistics, in the 1~6 month of this year, 1092 garments and 12 million 900 thousand pieces of clothing were exported to Henan Province, and the value of goods was 44 million 700 thousand US dollars. Compared with the same period last year, the number, quantity and amount of clothing decreased by 2.24%, 15.24% and 12.28% respectively, the first time there was a sharp decline.

Inspection and quarantine personnel analysis, this situation is not only related to the international situation, but also exposed the problems of Henan's clothing industry itself.

At present, all export garments in Henan are processed by OEM, and the added value of products is low.

At the same time, there are still problems such as weak awareness and low ability to deal with technical barriers to trade.
