The First Leather Fur Expo Helped Hebei Break Through The Financial Crisis

Fur, leather and products are traditional import and export commodities in China. Especially since the reform and opening up, the import and export trade of China's fur, leather and products has developed rapidly.

According to customs statistics, the export of Chinese fur, leather and products in 2008 amounted to US $3 billion 370 million (of which exports of fur and articles were US $890 million, leather products and exports amounted to US $2 billion 480 million), and total imports amounted to US $6 billion 210 million (of which 430 million US dollars were imported from fur and products, and 5 billion 780 million US dollars were imported from leather and products).

The main export countries of China's fur and leather products include: the European Union (US $800 million), the United States ($760 million), Russia ($680 million), Hongkong (640 million US dollars), Japan (250 million US dollars) and South Korea (195 million US dollars).

The main countries and regions of Jo, leather and leather goods are: Eu (US $1 billion 250 million), United States (US $1 billion 170 million), Australia, New Zealand ($810 million), South America ($680 million), South Korea ($530 million), Taiwan ($450 million), India ($210 million), Canada (148 million US dollars), and Thailand (105 million US dollars).

Leather and fur industry is an important traditional industry in Hebei province. Shijiazhuang has a high market share in leather and fur production at home and abroad. After nearly thirty years of rapid development, it has become an important base for leather processing, design, research and development and circulation of leather and fur products in the international market. It is an important window for China's leather and fur enterprises to move to the whole country and the international market.

But since last year, due to the international financial crisis and changes in the international market environment, as well as the adjustment of domestic processing trade policy, the import and export trade of fur, leather and products has declined in China compared with the same period last year, and the export volume has dropped by 28%.

In the face of the severe situation facing China's foreign trade export, it is imperative to stabilize and develop foreign trade in order to actively implement the central and provincial policies and policies to ensure growth and promote domestic demand.

With the approval of the Ministry of Commerce, the chamber of Commerce will hold the first China International leather and Fur Fair in Shijiazhuang on 18-22 June. It will create a platform for trade and negotiation, exchange and cooperation to promote the development of import and export trade for fur and leather manufacturing enterprises at home and abroad. It will provide more business opportunities for fur and leather industries and enterprises at home and abroad.

Not only that, during the Expo, there will be a series of activities such as "China leather fur market high-level forum", "2009 China Leather Fur new products conference", "leather fur trade and investment inspection" and other activities.
