Overseas Foundry Is Well Known That Big Brands Are Still Secretive.
Mr. Li has been in a bad mood recently because he felt he had been fooled when he bought clothes.
He bought a shirt from a luxury store in Italy. When he returned home, he found that the "made in Romania" (made in Romania) was printed on the washing label, which gave him a feeling.
"I went to buy the famous brand in Italy, of course, I saw the crafts and techniques of Italy, but I didn't expect the place of origin to be Romania."
Mr. Li said angrily.
In fact, most of the luxury brand production plants are not in their origin, because considering the cost of labor and pportation costs, most of their factories are distributed in third world countries.
Although there is not much difference in the quality and workmanship of the products produced in different places, Mr. Li's example also reminds people to pay attention to the place of origin when purchasing luxury clothing.
Luxury brands are somewhat secretive.
Luxury companies choose to produce and process products in relatively low cost countries and regions, which has become an open secret in the industry.
According to the press, some workers in the luxury origin clothing factory earn about 20 dollars per hour, and the working hours are fixed. But in some third world countries, the wages of workers are only a few percent of the origin workers, and they often work overtime.
The cooperation between luxury brands and authorized manufacturers of the third world countries has greatly saved the investment in fixed assets needed to expand the scale of production.
However, some luxury brands still have some taboo about their overseas OEM.
The reason is that luxury brands worry that overseas OEM will lead to psychological fluctuations in consumer groups, thereby negatively affecting their products.
Insiders pointed out that, in order to prevent the product from overseas enterprises OEM production news, some luxury brands even forced manufacturers to sign a confidentiality agreement.
In order to conceal the fact that they produce in China or other developing countries in Asia, some of the first-line brands will even find some remote processing plants to provide OEM services.
Overseas factories are common.
"Overseas foundry" is not all an opportunistic behavior. It can be regarded as a kind of allocation of resources.
Like many luxury clothing companies, Zegna's production plants are distributed all over the world, and the division between factories is very meticulous.
Located in Italy, Lanificio and Matex factories are responsible for the production and R & D of fabrics; Zeleco factories and Zefer factories are responsible for the production of leather garments, belts and shoes, bags and small leather products.
Overseas factories are distributed in Switzerland, Spain, Mexico, Turkey and China.
Among them, the Italco factory in Spain, the Tarsa plant in Mexico and the Xia Meng factory in Wenzhou, China are responsible for the production of sleeves and trousers, while the shirts are produced at the Ismaco plant in Istanbul, Turkey.
In addition, the most concerned clothing is made in Consitex factory in Switzerland.
In addition to the production area, people are concerned about the trademark issue of luxury goods.
The birthplace of the German luxury brand Boss is located in machin, south of Stuttgart, Germany, where its factory headquarters are located, and later developed into a German brand factory area.
Boss's trademarks include Boss Black (mainly for business and evening wear), Boss Selection (mainly produces high quality fabrics, handicrafts), Boss Orange (mainly produces casual clothing), and Boss Green (responsible for sports apparel production).
Moreover, Boss's most popular suit is its headquarters in machin, Germany, and its factories in Turkey and the United States.
Although there is not much difference in the quality and workmanship of garments from different origins and trademarks, there are still some differences in some products.
Like the British luxury brand Dunhill, one of its major characteristics is that there are three Dunhill homes in the world, which are located in Tokyo, London and Shanghai.
According to the reporter, only the clothes purchased in Dunhill's house are trademarks of "Alfred Dunhill". Most of the garments, such as "Dunhill London" brand, are mostly in Romania.
The clothing with "Alfred Dunhill" trademark is partly made of cotton in the West India ocean, and its workmanship and texture are more detailed and exquisite than ordinary products.
Different origin, same quality
There is an incorrect mentality among some consumers in the country. If it is not "made in China", it can be regarded as "luxury clothing".
In fact, there is no difference between the production of Chinese factories and those of other developing countries.
Someone once bought the "made in China" Armani T-shirt in Italy.
Although the made in Italy or made in France will give people a psychological satisfaction and feel that money spent on clothes is not a bad thing, they will not feel much different from the clothes of other places when they really wear clothes.
As luxury companies continue to expand their production lines, there will be more "overseas foundries" factories, and production problems will become more prominent.
The luxury brand should first solve the psychological problems of consumers. It is better to tell the world openly and honestly than to cover up their secrets. It also ensures that the quality of overseas OEM products will not differ greatly from that of their origin, so that consumers can accept overseas OEM products with a common mindset.
Insiders pointed out that the establishment of foundry production lines by luxury brands in developing countries such as China is a common fact. It is quite normal that luxury brands need not be too secretive and consumers should not be too concerned.
