CHIC2010 Launches Green Environmental Creativity As The Theme Exhibition

In December 7th, the United Nations climate conference in Copenhagen is about to be held. This meeting, which is called "the last opportunity to save mankind", will sign new agreements on global action to tackle climate change in the future, and also indicates the arrival of a new era of ecological economy characterized by low carbon energy.

More than 1/4 of the Sino US Joint Declaration signed recently between China and the United States is about clean energy and low carbon economy.

China is a heavy chemical industry dominated country, and the environment is deteriorating seriously. This year, it may overtake the United States as the largest country of carbon emissions. Therefore, there is more urgent demand for the low-carbon economy revolution.

China has made a commitment in the national plan to cope with climate change in China. By 2010, the energy consumption per unit GDP will be reduced by 20% compared to 2005.

    At present, our country

The industry is facing the double "green" pressure at home and abroad.

In some developed countries such as the United States, the "carbon labelling" has appeared on clothing.

How much carbon emissions do you have?

    More than we thought!

Carbon emissions can be generated from fiber extraction, dyeing, processing into cloth, making garments, and pportation, washing and ironing processes.

According to the Research Institute of manufacturing, University of Cambridge, a 250 kilogram pure cotton T-shirt has emitted 7 kilograms of carbon dioxide in its lifetime, which is 28 times its own weight, which does not include the environmental pollution caused by T-shirts.

And chemical fiber clothing has higher carbon emissions.

According to the environmental resource management company, a treaty of 400 grams of polyester pants is assumed to be produced in Taiwan, China.

    raw material

In Indonesia, made garments are shipped to the United Kingdom for sale.

Assuming that its life is two years, wash it 92 times with water at 50 C and washing machine, wash it and dry it with a dryer, and then spend an average of two minutes pressing.

It consumes about 200 kilowatt hours of energy, equivalent to 47 kilograms of carbon dioxide, and 117 times its own weight.

China is a large garment country. According to the statistics of the National Bureau of statistics, the total output of clothing in China last year was 40 billion 600 million. According to this figure, the total carbon emissions will be calculated, and the result will no doubt be amazing.

Over the past ten years, China's garment industry has been developing rapidly for ten years, which means ten years of rapid increase in carbon emissions.

Global Carbon Project recently published research results show that between 2000 and 2008, carbon dioxide emissions increased by 29% due to the establishment of power plants and factories, logging and other human activities.

The United Nations Framework Convention on climate change (UNFCCC), adopted in 1992, has formulated guidelines for the implementation of "common and differentiated responsibilities" on climate change.

In principle, for developing countries, the mandatory carbon dioxide emission reduction should be waived within a certain period of time. For developed countries, it is necessary to take an unshirkable responsibility for reducing emissions.

With regard to the emission reduction responsibilities of developing countries, the current mainstream plan for discussion at the Copenhagen conference is: for developing countries, there will be emissions growth that meets the development needs by 2020, but there should be a relative reduction of about 15-30%.

At the same time, as developing countries now account for about 50% of the world's carbon emissions, so after 2020, they need to enter mandatory emission reductions as well as developed countries. By 2050, they will be 20% lower than in 1990.

From 2010 to 2020, these ten years are the new "golden ten years" development period of China's clothing industry, and our carbon emissions are gradually reduced until the mandatory emission reduction after 2020.

No matter what the outcome of the Copenhagen conference is, the world will surely move towards a green development path of low carbon economy.

This means that the Chinese garment industry will have no way to go in the future without changing the extensive development pattern of the past.

To guide China's garment industry to develop a low carbon economy, CHIC has taken a substantial step this year.

    Green exhibition

In recent years, the new concept of "green exhibition" has been increasingly popular among the people, and has gradually become the research direction and development trend of the international exhibition.

CHIC is Asia's largest and most influential.

Trade and trade exhibition, which carries the important task of opening up the new ten years of China's garment industry, is a problem that CHIC organizers are constantly thinking about how to break through and innovate, pform and upgrade.

In order to create a better platform to reflect brand culture and display brand positioning, CHIC has always advocated the concept of booth design and construction with green environmental protection as the theme.

This concept will blossom and blossom in next year's CHIC. CHIC2010 has officially launched the booth design evaluation activity centered on brand style and product positioning, with green, environmental protection and creativity as the theme. It will realize environmental protection, save expenses and promote innovative exhibition results.

According to the CHIC organizers, the selection of exhibitors will be reviewed in booth design, product display and construction. The purpose of this selection is to recognize and encourage the creative design and green environmental exhibition to create a harmonious relationship.

The CHIC organizer invited the relevant experts to form an assessment panel for the selection of building materials, on-site construction and design elements.

As an activity for CHIC to guide apparel enterprises to participate in green exhibitions, exhibitors do not need to sign up for the event. Special exhibition booths automatically enter the selection process.

The results will be announced at the closing of the CHIC2010 Expo, and the best will be selected.

Creative booth design award, green environmental exhibition booth construction excellence award and best product display award.

The award-winning exhibitors can be awarded the honorary certificates issued by the organizers of the Expo, and will be publicized and promoted in the cooperative media, and the construction management fees of the exhibitors will be reduced.
