    Last September, London Fashion Week welcomed its 25 birthday, while the Russian Fashion Week held its 10th anniversary celebration this year.


    The commercialization of fashion week


    The development of fashion week is closely related to the fashion industry in different countries.

    As early as the 10 anniversary of China International Fashion Week in 2006, Wang Qing, executive director of the China Fashion Designers Association and China Fashion Week Organizing Committee, pointed out that the China International Fashion Week was born in the process of marketization, and there was no fashion week without marketization.

    He believes that fashion week is a product of marketization and a product of commercialization.

    Official data from the tenth Fashion Week show that there are about 50 brands participating in the fashion week and 12 brands participating in the fashion week for the first time.

    Seoul fashion week has always been one of the most important and authoritative fashion events in Korea.

    The twentieth Seoul fashion week participated in the design of a record of 57 designers, including 15 men's designers, 30 women's designers and 12 new generation designers from top Korean designers.

    Overseas buyers are also unprecedented in scale, reaching 92, many of which are big buyers.


    The fifteenth India fashion week attracted 130 local designers (19 of them were the first to participate), and more than 70 designers launched more than 40 brand new releases during the event.

    The number of buyers at home and abroad was 175 last year.


    Compared with the above three fashion weeks, China International Fashion Week has great potential in commercial capacity.

    According to statistics, China International Fashion Week 2010/2011 autumn and winter series released 25 fashion brands from home and abroad, 20 famous designers, and 5 graduates from 5 colleges and universities at home and abroad held 26 special releases, but the number of buyers at home and abroad participating in this fashion week is unknown.


    Russian fashion week also did not disclose the number of buyers.

    But the scale of the twentieth Russian fashion week is very large. In the 6 days, 50 brand new series show has been staged. About more than 200 fashion houses and brands have participated in the exhibition.
