News: Statistics Of Cotton Imports In China In 1-4
According to the Statistics Center of China Textile Industry Association, in April 2010, China imported cotton yarn to 103085 tons, with an import amount of US $276 million 60 thousand; in 1-4, the total import cotton yarn reached 385580 tons, with an import value of US $981 million 950 thousand, an increase of 34.97% and 49.61% compared to the same period last year, and the import price increased by 10.87% over the same period last year.
The largest increase in import volume in 1-4 months was cotton combed yarn, with an import volume of 181160 tons, with an import value of US $401 million 840 thousand, an increase of 56.64% and 84.76% over the same period last year.
From the perspective of country, the main importing countries and regions of cotton yarn imported from China in 1-4 months are not only Hongkong and Taiwan, but also Pakistan, India and Vietnam in South Asia.
Among them, Pakistan has become the main source country of imported cotton yarn in China.
In 1-4 months, the amount of cotton yarn imported from Pakistan amounted to 136255 tons, and the import amount amounted to US $313 million 350 thousand, up 32.09% and 63.15% respectively over the same period last year.
In addition, it is worth noting that the price of cotton yarn imported from Pakistan has increased by 23.66% over the same period last year.
According to foreign media reports, in April this year, Pakistan exported 49 thousand and 600 tons of cotton yarn, an increase of 11.9% over the same period last year, while the government stipulated that the export volume should not exceed 35 thousand tons per month.
It is understood that the lower reaches of Pakistan's textile manufacturers are trying to persuade the government to completely prohibit the export of cotton yarn, or raise the export tax on cotton yarn from 15% to 30%, and extend the tax period from one month to more than one year.
At present, the global supply of cotton is tight, and domestic cotton prices are running at a high level. Whether Pakistan prohibits the export of cotton yarn or raises tariffs, it will have a great impact on Chinese textile enterprises.
