The shoe ridges of the opposite ridge are formed through a piece of matching. Since it is a technological change of the cover, it is not directly related to the overall structure of the upper, it can be used on full shoes, and can also be used in full sandals, slippers and tube boots.

As shown in figure 2-4-1, this is a false cover full of slippers, the front line of the front cover is lined up by holes, forming a three-dimensional shoe ridge.

To design the full pair of slippers, we should first design the slippers with the fake covers, and then use the boundaries of the false covers to design the holes.

As shown in figure 2-4-2, the shoe cover is designed by using the copy board first, then the basic template of the shoe cover is made, then the contour line of the shoe cover is transferred to the front side to form the boundary line of the enclosure. The location of punching is designed on both sides of the boundary line.

The spacing between holes should be divided into two segments. In front of the turning stage, the spacing of the L spacing is slightly smaller, and generally takes 5 to 6mm. In the later gentle stage, the spacing between holes is slightly larger, which takes 6 to 7mm. The last two holes are the location of the lock.
Double row holes are placed on both sides of the boundary line when drilling. The height of the shoe ridge is the distance between the two rows of holes and the dividing line, usually around 3mm.

As shown in figure 2-4-3, the upper and lower two rows of holes require uniform arrangement, and the number of holes in the two rows is the same.
As the shoe ridges occupy the area of the upper, it is necessary to replenish the corresponding parts at the bottom, about 5mm.
The method of punching holes is a way of manual string stitching. Double stitches and single wires are used to sew holes according to holes. At the starting point, through the needle L, make the two sutures alignment, and then sew two needles as the lock line. Starting with the third needle, the two needles are piercing from the same group of pinholes, completing a needle by pulling, tightening and killing the thread. One by one, until the last lock.

Attention should be paid to the tightness of the thread killing, so that the stitches should be arranged orderly. The length of the stitch should be 5 times the total length of the hole. After stitching, the natural wrinkles will appear in the outer ring of the shoe ridge.
