The State Statistics Bureau and the General Administration of Customs announced the national economic operation and import and export situation in May, indicating that the textile and garment industry continued to maintain steady growth.
The added value of the textile industry increased by 11.3% over the same period last year, down 5.2 percentage points from the average growth rate.
In May, the added value of industrial added value above scale increased by 16.5% over the same period last year. Among them, the textile industry grew by 11.3%, lower than the average growth rate of 5.2 percentage points; chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry grew by 17%; the non-metallic mineral products industry increased by 20.6%; the general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 20%; the transportation and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 22.3%; the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 21%; the communications equipment, computers and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 17.8%; the growth of electricity and heat production and supply industry 14.5%; and ferrous metal smelting and calendering processing industry increased by 15.3%.
According to sub products, in May, 437 products of the 503 products grew year on year.
