    According to the data released by the National Bureau of statistics in March 11th, the total retail sales of consumer goods totaled 25052 billion yuan in 1-2 months, an increase of 17.9% over the same period last year.

    Among them, the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats and needle textiles were 110 billion 500 million yuan, up 23.3% over the same period last year, 5.4 percentage points higher than the total retail sales of social consumer goods, and the growth rate was faster.


    Among them, the main factor of stimulating domestic textile and clothing consumption is holiday consumption during the Spring Festival.

    From January to February, the total retail sales of social consumer goods totaled 12334 billion yuan, up 22.1% over the same period last year, of which retail sales of clothing shoes and hats and needle textiles were 55 billion 300 million yuan, an increase of 58.4% over the same period last year, an increase of 36.3 percentage points higher than the total retail sales of consumer goods.

    The data also showed that in the 1-2 months of this year, the factory price of clothing industrial products increased by 1.8% over the same period last year, while the factory prices of all kinds of industrial products increased by 4.9% year-on-year.

    In February, the factory price of clothing products increased by 2.6% over the same period last year, while the factory prices of all kinds of industrial products increased by 5.4% year-on-year.


    Why is the factory price of clothing products growing faster than that of other kinds of industrial products?

    Data show that the price of chemical raw materials increased by 4.8% over the same period of 1-2, which is lower than the overall growth rate of all kinds of raw materials by 9.1%. The cost of raw material cost faced by textile and garment enterprises is less than that of other industries, so the increase of factory prices of clothing industrial products is also less than that of other industrial products.

    For textile and garment industry, 1-2 months of statistics are more optimistic, showing some bright spots.


    First of all, the clothing and consumer prices in the retail sector have declined, while sales have risen sharply. This shows that the circulation links have a good effect on the profits of consumers, and the demand for high prices has been released. The constant release of this domestic demand will also stimulate the textile and garment industry to continue to warm up.


    Secondly, the clothing factory price increase is small, which shows that textile and garment enterprises cost pressure is smaller than other industries.

    This provides a good condition for the promotion of circulation links.
