    Transformation and upgrading of garment industry in Shenzhen


    The textile and garment industry in Shenzhen ranks among the leading women's clothing companies in China. There are more than 3000 garment enterprises. With the final products and high value-added products, the products are both competitive in domestic and foreign markets, and the output value is 130 billion yuan in 2009, and exported to 9 billion US dollars.


    Ten years ago, more than 2000 large and small Shenzhen clothing enterprises spread all over Luohu, Nanshan, Futian and Baoan, scattered in different industrial areas.

    In the past two years, with the development of the city and the different functional orientation of different districts, Shenzhen Garment Association has been working hard, and more and more Shenzhen clothing enterprises have gathered their production to the two districts of Baoan and Longgang, and put the brand operation design center in Futian and Luohu District in the center of the city.


    Qiu Xuan, deputy director of Shenzhen science, industry and trade and information technology committee, told reporters that Shenzhen's clothing industry has gone through a road from OEM to ODM to OBM. In recent years, the Shenzhen municipal government has continuously promulgated policies, such as providing special funds from the financial revenue to provide enterprises with technological pformation interest loans, expanding domestic and international market special subsidies and exhibitors subsidies, and so on, leading the garment industry to scale, cluster and high-end development.
