Textile Exports Hit A New High In The Year
In May 2010, China's textile and clothing exports increased by 33.5% over the same period last year, and export volume hit a new high in the year.
According to customs statistics, in May this year, China's textile and clothing exports continued to rise in April, and the export volume reached the highest level since the beginning of the year, and exports jumped to over 30% year-on-year. Imports were unchanged from April, and imports continued to rise year-on-year. The surplus reached 14 billion 740 million US dollars in the month, accounting for 75% of the total trade surplus of the country, an increase of 34.5% over the same period last year. 1~5 months, China's textile and clothing imports and exports all achieved rapid growth, of which exports grew by 19.2% and imports increased by 20.2%. Realized a cumulative surplus of 62 billion 720 million US dollars, an increase of 19.1%.
In the two quarter, the export situation of textile and clothing began to turn warmer, and the export volume and growth rate in 4, 5 and two months were increasing.
In May, it exported US $16 billion 400 million, the highest in the year and the highest in the same period.
Exports grew by 33.5% year-on-year, second only to February.
Compared with the same period in 2008, exports also increased by 13.9%.
The cumulative export volume of 1~5 reached US $70 billion, which has exceeded the level of 2002.
Imports were stable, and the import volume in the past three months did not change very much, about $1 billion 700 million.
In May, imports increased 25.2% over the same period last year, unchanged from the same period in 2008.

Market share improvement
EU: in May, exports to the EU increased by 21.3%, of which textiles and
clothing
Increased by 50% and 13.3% respectively.
The export volume of knitted and woven garments increased by 13.6%, and the unit price decreased by 2.1%.
In 1~5 months, the cumulative exports to the EU increased by 17.4%, of which textiles and clothing increased by 29.1% and 13.5% respectively, and the average unit price of knitted and woven garments decreased by 2.2%.
The United States: in May, exports to the United States increased by 37.2%, of which textiles and clothing grew by 51% and 32.3% respectively.
The export volume of knitted and woven garments increased by 32.8% and the unit price decreased by 1.1%.
In the month of 1~5, exports to the United States increased by 24.5%, with textiles and clothing increased by 30.7% and 22.2%, respectively, and knitted,
Woven
The average unit price of clothing exports dropped by 8%.
Japan: exports to Japan also began to exert momentum. In May, exports to Japan increased by 15.8%, of which textiles and clothing grew by 14% and 16.2% respectively.
The export volume of knitted and woven garments has increased by 7.5%, and the unit price has increased by 8.2%.
1~5 months, the cumulative export to Japan has not yet recovered to a positive growth, but the decline has narrowed to 0.8%, showing signs of a stop.
Among them, textiles grew by 9.5%, clothing decreased by 2.8%, and the average unit price of knitted and woven garments fell, compared with the same period last year.
ASEAN market: with the gradual emergence of the role of China ASEAN Free Trade Area, the pattern of China's foreign trade is gradually changing: ASEAN surpassed Japan in May this year and became the third largest trading partner of China.
ASEAN is also playing an increasingly prominent role in China's textile and clothing trade.
Although ASEAN and Japan are still unable to match the total amount, the gap between the two has been shrunk.
In the 1~5 months of this year, bilateral trade in textiles and clothing between China and ASEAN amounted to US $5 billion 850 million, and bilateral trade in textiles and clothing amounted to US $9 billion 270 million. The difference between the two countries was 3 billion 420 million US dollars, compared with the same period last year, the gap was 33% US dollars.
ASEAN's share in China's textile and clothing export market also increased from 6.5% last year to 7.6% in May this year, raising 1.1 percentage points.
In May, China's exports to ASEAN grew by 56%, of which the export of yarn fabrics increased by 52%.
1~5 exports to ASEAN increased by 41.1%, of which the yarn fabric grew by 38.6%, and the growth rate accelerated.
In May, the average unit price of ASEAN's yarn export increased by 19.7%, and its fabric increased by 4.8%.
In 1~5 months, the average export price of ASEAN yarn increased by 19.1%, and its fabric increased by 4.7%.
General trade continues to lead.
In May, the general trade growth rate, which accounted for 3/4 of exports, accelerated. The export growth in that month was 37.8%, an increase of 20 percentage points over April. In the increase of 33.5 percentage points in the month of textile and clothing, the general trade contributed 27.5 percentage points.
The processing trade increased by 17.7%, and the small border trade continued to rebound after the fall, increasing by 14.9%.
In 1~5 months, exports of general trade and processing trade increased by 22.8% and 7.6% respectively, and small border trade dropped by 16.8%.
General trade imports continue to lead in processing trade.
In May, general trade imports grew by 58%, and processing trade increased by 15.7%.
In 1~5 months, general trade imports increased by 52%, while processing trade increased by only 10.5%.
Textile exports are gaining momentum
In May, the export growth of textiles increased even stronger. The export growth rate reached 42.4% in that month, up nearly 18 percentage points from that of April.
Yarn, fabric and finished goods increased by 60%, 40.6% and 39% respectively, representing an increase of 17 percentage points, 17 percentage points and 18.3 percentage points more than in April.
In the first five months, the total export volume of textiles increased by 19%.
Garment exports continued to rise in April.
Export growth was 27.7% in the same month, an increase of 17 percentage points over April.
In the first five months, clothing exports increased by 13%.
In May, the average export price of major commodities continued to rise.
The yarn increased by 6.1%, and the garments (including knitted garments and woven garments) increased by 2.8%.
In 1~5 months, the average unit price of yarn exports increased by 6.1%, and garment exports dropped by 0.2%. This is the first time that the average export price of clothing exports has increased for the first time in the year.
Textile and garment imports speed up again
In May, the import of textiles and clothing increased again, and textile imports increased by 23.4% during the month, up 6 percentage points from April.
Among them, the fastest growing imports of manufactured goods, an increase of 34.7%, and yarn and fabrics increased by 30.2% and 15.2% respectively.
Garment imports increased rapidly, and imports increased by 47% during the month.
Textile imports increased by 20.2% in 1~5 months, of which yarn, fabric and finished goods increased by 39.1%, 7.1% and 26.3% respectively.
Clothing imports increased by 20.1%, of which imports of knitted and woven garments decreased by 8.5% and imports increased by 19.1%.
The import price of major commodities kept rising, and the unit price of yarn imports increased by 11.3%, and the import price of knitted and woven garments increased by 30.1%.
Slowdown in imports of raw materials
In May, imports of textile materials continued to grow, but the growth rate slowed sharply compared with April.
In that month, the import volume and value of raw materials increased by 18.7% and 59.1% respectively, representing an increase of 43 percentage points and 33 percentage points less than in April.
The growth rate of imports and values of cotton, silk and wool tops exceeded the average value, and the increase of silk imports was more than two times.
Only about 20% of imports and 16.4% of total imports of polyester and polyester chips increased by 3.1%.
In 1~5 months, the total import volume and value of raw materials increased by 76.5% and 114.4% respectively.
Silk and cotton grew fastest and imports increased by 10 times and 1.4 times respectively.
The import price of raw materials continued to rise. The average unit price of raw materials imports increased by 34% in May, of which cotton and chemical fiber increased by 45.1% and 12.8% respectively, and wool tops increased by 55.6%.
The import price of silk fell by only 1.9%, almost to a stop.
The average unit price of raw materials imports increased by 21.4% during 1~5 months, with cotton and chemical fibers increased by 36% and 11% respectively.
Imports of textile machinery continued to grow, with imports of US $340 million in May, an increase of 62.2%.
The main import market, the European Union and Japan, grew by 82.6% and 35.9% respectively.
1~5 has accumulated $1 billion 470 million from the global market, an increase of 73%, of which imports from the EU and Japan increased by 74% and 79% respectively.
Imports from ASEAN are still growing rapidly, with an increase of 11 times.
