    Shaoxing Textile City Of China

    2010/7/14 11:17:00 19

    Light Spinning Keqiao Shaoxing

1/4 of the world's fabrics are traded here, and buyers from all over the world gathered here to form the largest textile market in the world with the largest variety of business and the highest volume of paction. This is the China Light Textile City located in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang, also known as the "world cloth Market".

"Global textiles look at China, Chinese textile sees Zhejiang, Zhejiang textile sees"

    Keqiao

    "

Shaoxing County 2/3 of the total industrial volume comes from the textile industry, so some people call Shaoxing county "a strong county on a piece of cloth".

More than 20 years ago, China's light textile city started from a spontaneous "cloth Street" and developed to the "light textile market" that has begun to take shape. Now, to the modern "international textile capital", the textile industry is well deserved "leading role", and China Textile City is the most powerful "economic engine" of the local power.

Development: building the international textile capital

By fully promoting the "two pioneering", accelerating the pace of market clustering, modernization and internationalization, China's textile city's industrial cohesion, market competitiveness and international influence have been significantly improved.

    Shaoxing

County textile industry has a long history. Since the reform and opening up, Shaoxing has also vigorously developed textile and dyeing industry as the main body of the township textile industry.

"In those days, people put Shaoxing's light textile products to all parts of the country, and also set up points for sale in Keqiao, where the textile enterprises were relatively dense and relatively convenient pportation."

Zhou Rusheng, director of the Construction Management Committee of China Textile City, recalled that in this way, a real estate professional cloth street was quietly born.

In 1984, more than 200 businessmen set up "windows" in Keqiao streets and hotels, and a large number of "awning boats" with the characteristics of Watertown pportation set up a bridge between buyers and sellers.

If the previous market was spontaneously formed, the government's vigorous support and positive guidance contributed to the important turning point of the spontaneous market to the large-scale market.

In July 1985, the Shaoxing industrial and commercial bureau built a shanty style "Keqiao light textile market" on the west side of Keqiao. The first generation of light textile market came into being. The annual sales of chemical fiber cloth was 2 million meters, with a turnover of about 20 million yuan.

By the early 90s of last century, Keqiao and Wah and other places in the market had developed into the production base of light textile products.

    Textile and other light industries

The professional market has laid a good foundation for industry.

In 1992, the market turnover reached 1 billion 660 million yuan, becoming the largest cloth Market in the country.

It was also in this year that the Shaoxing light textile market was officially renamed "Zhejiang Shaoxing China Textile City", becoming the first professional market in China to be crowned "China".

After the Shaoxing County town moved to Keqiao in 2000, the upgrading and development of China Textile City entered a fast lane.

In April 2006, Shaoxing county set up the China Light Textile City Construction Management Committee, and took the light textile city as the foundation of Shaoxing textile industry, the foundation of the new County town, and the original county of the economic strong county. It fully promoted the "two pioneering work", and accelerated the pace of market clustering, modernization and internationalization. China's textile city's industrial cohesion, market competitiveness and international influence were significantly improved.

Chen Yu, chairman of Zhejiang Yuhua Holding Group Co., Ltd., which owns 6 textile enterprises, started business with her parents from Sichuan in early years, and spread all over Guangdong, Guangxi and Zhejiang, and was rooted in Shaoxing.

After more than 20 years of development, Yuhua Holdings Limited has become a leading supplier of well-known clothing brands in China. It is one of the national textile base enterprises integrating textile technology, creative design and trade marketing.

Chen Yu and his son, the two generation, have witnessed the growth of China's light textile city in more than 20 years of pioneering career. Now they are headquartered in China Light Textile City, and Shaoxing and Keqiao become their second home.

In Keqiao, in addition to those from all corners of the globe, successful businesses have set up offices.

Zhangjiagang Juqiao wool spinning and dyeing Co., Ltd. has set up an office in the silk textile market of Dongsheng Road in Keqiao. Wang Jian Zheng, an engineer, said: "as the largest wholesale market of textile industry in China, Keqiao is a good window for direct customers, no one wants to miss this position."

Today, China's light textile city has basically formed five major market areas, namely, the southern traditional trading area, the northern market innovation zone, the central international trade area, the Western raw materials leading area and the eastern logistics supporting area, with about 3200000 square meters of market building area, more than 20000 traditional business districts, 20000 registered operators and companies, nearly 5000 resident overseas buyers, and nearly 1000 overseas representative offices.

In 2009, under the adverse impact of the international financial crisis, China Textile City still achieved 70 billion 800 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%, the export of 1 billion 430 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%.
