The provincial commerce department provides data showing that, driven by large enterprises such as provincial machinery and equipment import and Export Corporation, Dongfang Electric stock company, Sichuan electric power equipment consulting company and Eastern Electric Power Equipment Corporation, Sichuan enterprises are building 26 projects in South Asia, with contracts amounting to $5 billion 680 million.

Sichuan enterprises have accumulated rich experience in overseas project contracting in South Asia.

At the same time, 7 Sichuan enterprises set up investment projects in South Asia, and the total investment of US $54 million 200 thousand accounted for only 8.5% of the total.

The Ministry of Commerce said that our province is closely related to South Asian countries, with cultural interconnections and economic complementarity. South Asia's "rich ore" needs to be further explored.

On the one hand, the rapid development of South Asia has created enormous demand.

In Bangladesh, for example, the country is focusing on bidding for power plants, bridges, railways and other projects.

The government plans to increase the nation's generating capacity to 7 million kilowatts by 2013. In the next few years, it will need more than 300 kilowatts of installed capacity, including 4 large scale coal-fired power plants with 50-130 kilowatts.

The two sides will create rare opportunities for domestic coal-fired generating units to undertake overseas projects.

On the other hand, in March this year, China and Bangladesh signed a series of agreements on economic and trade cooperation.

Taking advantage of the national south open policy can help Sichuan enterprises successfully expand the South Asian market outside India and Pakistan.

Seize the "zero tariff" business opportunities

Since July 1st this year, China has imposed zero tariffs on 4721 items of tax goods imported from Bangladesh, covering 6 of the products in China's customs tariff.

Provincial Commerce Department said that we seize the opportunity of "zero tariff" policy, and our province actively seeks resources development projects in the country.

According to this policy, Bangladesh's advantageous commodities include garments, leather, jute, seafood, etc., which can enjoy zero tariff treatment when exported to our country.

Bangladesh is a major producer of garments. It has begun to produce international famous first-line brand leather products. "Bangladesh made" is very popular in the European Union, the United States, Japan and other countries.

Due to the lagging development of upstream clothing industry and surrounding industries in Bangladesh, fabrics, yarns, accessories, dyes and machinery used in garment manufacturing are imported from China.

Sichuan textile and garment enterprises and related enterprises can set up factories in Bangladesh, pfer clothing manufacturing and related industries, or vigorously develop upstream products and supporting products export business.

As one of the least developed countries, its export products can enjoy preferential treatment such as GSP given by some developed countries. Products such as garments produced by Mencius factories can enter the market of Europe and Japan without any duty.

The import and Export Chamber of footwear industry is paying close attention to "zero tariff" business opportunities.

Due to the successful entry into emerging markets such as ASEAN, the export of footwear industry in our province increased by nearly 8 in the first half.

The chamber of Commerce will also organize enterprises to participate in the Vietnam International Footwear Exhibition in September, with the aim of entering ASEAN and Japan as a springboard.

After ASEAN's firm foothold, the next goal of Sichuan shoes is South Asia.
